This is a great machine. Plenty of power to plane 10’ birch with no problem. Love the cutterhead. Super quiet for what it is. The only issue is that the gear box leaks oil from the plugs, no matter how tight , it also seams to leak from the gasket. Hopefully Grizzly will help remedy this.

This is an outstanding planer. The fixed infeed and outfeed tables allow you to use a fixed platform for long stock and the cutterhead’s movement is precise and accurate. As the other reviewer indicated, I too had a gearbox oil leak around the gasket. With advice from Grizzly Tech Support (they are always very helpful) I tightened up the gearbox cover screws and now no leak. Re the other reviewer’s comment about the leak from the fill and drain plugs. A little oil resistant removable thread sealer stops that completely. ... show more
