  • This Grizzly had an expensive bite
I'm a skilled and enthusiastic woodworker. I want and have some very good equipment. But I am NOT an electrician. Hence my dismay when I ordered the G0652 hoping to have the 5hp capability. Not until I had the saw unpacked and ready to power did I discover that a 3 phase motor requires a separate, non-residential electrical service. Oh well I thought, I'll see if Grizzly will work with me to change out to the 3 hp single phase motor. It's the same machine except for that. Yes, in fact they did sell me the 3 hp motor ($300+freight shpg) but WOULD NOT TAKE BACK THE 5 hp. I'm stuck with it. Well shame on me for not being an electrician. But SHAME ON GRIZZLY for allowing the product details on Amazon to not indicate the specialized 3 phase electrical service requirement. Their customer focused support people had no sympathy, though they indicated mine was not the only such experience with the G0652. This is a wonderful saw even with the 3 hp motor, but, in the end, it cost me over $700 more than buying the G0651 to begin with. I don't understand why Grizzly won't take back the 5 hp and refund me the value. It doesn't support the customer who didn't get all the information they needed to make the right choice from their info on Amazon. Not surprising to see this is not currently available. But who knows what other necessary info is missing from their other product descriptions??? ... show more

  • Needs special electric supply
I had no idea what 3- phase electricity was. This saw requires it. You will need a $1000 transformer

  • change my review
My previous review was a result to motor overheat which ruined every aspect of the table saw. Now, that I realized that it was me not the table specs and features, I've totally changed my review about it. The motor, like many others in the USA runs on power supply of 60Hz. cycle where in my country Qatar it runs on 50Hz. cycle. This caused the motor to run slower than normal thus heats up quickly and ultimately stops rotating. I had to articulate our power cycle to 60Hz by adding a device called stepping regulator and that solves everything. This table saw is a beauty just to look at. So powerful it cuts hard wood like a knife cutting soft butter. The digital angle reader is extremely accurate to within 0.0002" in both 45 and 90 degrees. It's heavy without any vibration during operations. It has a sold blade guard that makes it almost impossible to injure yourself. Two extension tables, side and front give you the privilege to cut big board of any type of wood with ease.I was spectacle about the extension table tops as they are made of MDF but my doubts cleared when realizing they are coated with acrylic epoxy which makes them well protected against humidity and high temperature. To clean up the iron cast table of the saw use WD40 or similar spray evenly and wait 10 second and then wipe it off with iron wool and see the result. I'm not exaggerating if I say You can see your face sharp clear in it like a mirror. The technical support and customer services at Grizzly are literary professionals and they actually gave me the idea of changing the power cycle and kept me in their good hands to the end. The table saw also has a feature to use multi-blade for dado cuts up to 3/4". If you are looking for a quality table saw and can afford $2,300 buy it you wont egret it for life. I give it 6 stars. ... show more
