  • Great Experience
As I don't yet play, I didn't want to spend a fortune or start on something that would be hard to play and hate. After some research, I checked out a lot of online stores and eventually Amazon. I stumbled on this used Gretsch being sold in like-new condition. Maybe it was a demo, but I can't tell it was used. Odd I know, I feel there are some things bought on Amazon that are supposed to be new, but look used (waffle makers.) The Guitar is beautiful at any price, but I haven't seen anything as nice for the money. It did need very slight tuning, but the weather might account for that, it's already cold and starting to get dry here. I don't have an amp yet, but it sounds nice as is. I do look forward to plugging it in. When I do learn to shred, this will be the first place I look for my next axe. ... show more

  • Love the guitar; strings not so much
The Gretsch G5024E Rancher Dreadnought Acoustic-Electric Guitar is an amazing instrument. Compared to my other acoustics, its play is really tight - which I really don't know what that means. Overall, it is a great deal for the money. My only issue is with the strings. I understand many recommend routinely changing strings on any new guitar. Perhaps so. But upon arrival, these strings were dark brown (? oxidation), and did not have that new guitar string sound. (I purchased the guitar in mid-2021; the inspection date was 2020.) Nonetheless, with new strings, it sounded great. Finally, the battery is located at the bottom of the guitar (beside the electric line-in guitar cord/cable). I wasted time loosening the strings, trying to feel inside the guitar to replace or activate the batteries. However, once I found the convenient battery location, and activated the battery (by removing the battery covering), the electronics worked great! [ADD: The battery that came with the guitar lasted less than a week. (???) My order was for a new guitar; I supposedly received a new guitar.] ... show more

  • Excellent Quality!
Playing guitar was my career for years. This is a quality instrument. Allmost every guitar requires a set up after purchasing. This guitar needed feet work and a neck adjustment. It plays amazing and the sound is excellent. The pickup sounds great through a PA as well as in the studio.

  • Great guitar for the price
Awesome action, intonation, and tone out of the box. Buy it. You’ll love it.

  • Outstanding Value!!!
Ok. I would NEVER think to buy a guitar site unseen online. But, I was in the market for a new acoustic/electric, had a budget, and starting researching. This beauty kept popping up with 4-5 stars and rave reviews. I just got it today, and the hype is real! It was set-up almost perfectly out of the box, and only needed minor tuning. Not bad for bouncing around in a delivery truck for 4 days. I tuned her up, and was amazed at the warm tone that came from this guitar. Not only does it sound fantastic, the fit and finish are extraordinary! I fully plan on using this as my main gigging guitar! ... show more

  • Problem with the neck. See below.
I changed the strings, and there was a tin sound on the e#1 string. I took it into a very reputable guitar shop. They showed me there was a neck bump, and when played, going down the neck, same tin sound, across all strings, when getting to 5th fret. It's going to cost me $40.00 or more for the adjustment, plus, I won't have a guitar for 1 month. I love the sound of the guitar, but this is a bummer. This is a follow up. I have had the repairs done. This guitar has a better sound quality than any I have owned. I am extremely happy. The repairs were under $50.00. ... show more

  • Great guitar
This is the 1st guitar I bought for myself in over 20 years. Was weary about ordering online. Guitar came and tuned up easy and sounds great. I have not plugged it into a system yet but have enjoyed playing it.
