  • Especially good value for an inexpensive guitar.
Review of Gretsch G2215-P90 Streamliner Junior Jet Club 6-String Electric Guitar. I own over 20 guitars, but never had a Gretsch. I've heard that Gretsch guitars are extremely well packaged. This is true. It was double boxed from the seller, the inner Gretsch box had cardboard supports for the neck and foam wrapped headstock and neck and bubble wrap covering the entire top. Excellent wrapping. The guitar came detuned two steps on most strings so likely intentional. The neck is straight, action a little high, intonation at the shipped neck setting is spot on after tuning using the harmonic at the 12th fret, rather than fretting the note at the 12th. I play a few tunes in my band using a capo, so I hope the intonation will sound okay on those. The guitar is beautiful, very well made, frets are smooth and polished, no sharp ends on mine. Neck is well set (bolt on) and well fitted into the neck pocket. The finish is glossy. Not sure how that will effect the neck yet. I don't really like a glossy neck and may knock it back a bit with some steel wool at a later date, but for now I'll let it stand as is, since it doesn't seem to cause a problem. The tone of the guitar is very open and bright especially on the middle position. I raised the bridge pickup a bit to even out the volume compared to the P90 in the neck. I like the mid rangey tone of the guitar and I think it will fit nicely into my band's sound. Out of all my guitars it is the only one that has a single coil and humbucking coil without a coil split that I own. It is also the only Gretsch style pickup (the Broadtron) that I own. Overall, for the price I got mine ($219) this is a great buy. Now-a-days I usually buy used guitars, but at this price I couldn't pass this one up. ... show more

  • A great sounding guitar for ~$200!!!
This guitar is an unbelievable bargain. I bought a “used“ one for around $200. I own some expensive electric guitars, and this guitar easily competes with them in terms of sound. The guitar is not perfect in that the intonation is slightly off as you move towards the higher frets, and you can only adjust it so much with the stock bridge. However, there are aftermarket bridges that you could buy to remedy that. Still, the sound is fantastic! It reminds me of a Les Paul Junior. Those didn’t play in tune all the way up the neck very well either, but are still considered great guitars. ... show more

  • An absolute bargain for price paid.
Plays well right out of the box. Pickups, pots, and hardware all function properly.

  • Gretch guitar!
This is amazing guitar, after changing nut to bone, Grover lockingTuner pegs, good strings. Haven't touched the electronics, bridge, and neck pickups soar, with me setting up. This is a good guitar. However even with upgrades, because it's entry level, doesn't increase value, more player friendly. It did play well out of box , because of seller setup. Better with upgrades. ... show more

  • Great guitar for the price
I’m not sure about the negative reviews but I got a really good one. Maybe there were some of the same models of this guitar made in china but the one I got was not. Made in Indonesia… great sounding and playing guitar right out of the box. For 200 bucks you can’t go wrong!

  • Fantastic guitar at an unbelievable price.
This is very well built guitar. The fit and finish are great for the price. The playability is top notch, I just tuned it, and started playing. The neck P90 is warm with just a hint of bite, while the bridge is pure humbucker with a touch of brightness. They sound great alone, but engaging both and cutting the tone to 6-8 creates the bluest of blues. I am super surprised. ... show more

  • Worst fret edges I’ve ever seen!
I loved everything about this guitar except one that was a deal breaker. The fits on this guitar felt like they were too long and hung over the edges of the fretboard. I stopped by my local guitar shop and ask them about it and they said they never seen one as bad either. Everything else about the guitar, I absolutely loved. The combination of the Humbucker pick up and the P90 pick up gives it a really dirty, gritty, greasy sound, but at the same time you can get really clean tones with a nice highs or a fat bottom end. Best of both worlds. Great guitar at a great price if you get a good one. I’ll be sending this one back and picking up another one to try. ... show more

  • Great guitar, but quite heavy.
Looks like a LP, weighs like a LP but sounds nothing like one. This guitar is very heavy. That said, I got an excellent deal and this is an amazing guitar for the money and just a good guitar, period. Solid, good build quality, good components. I have had many guitars in this price range. Mostly S by F. They are not even in the same ballpark, especially the fretwork. Highly recommended. ... show more
