This pure lemon powder is so flippin' GOOD. I ordered one bag to give it a try, and wow - we burned through that in days making the best lemonade we've had outside of using fresh from the backyard tree Meyer lemons when we lived in Florida. There's no sugar or fillers or even anti-caking agents in this. Just straight lemon. Guessing they freeze dry everything but the seeds and pith, because there is no bitterness from the pith at all. You even get the scent and taste of the oil from the lemon rind. Not only does this make outstanding lemonade, but it is incredible in baked goods. I will never use lemon flavoring or other lemon powders again. I've made foods like lemon-blueberry pancakes, lemon poundcake, lemon bars (ohhhhh, the lemon bars this powder makes...the tartness is to die for), and used with butter and fresh dill on seafood, and mixed a tiny bit of powder in with afternoon tea. You don't need much because the powder is super strong. When using this for the first time compared to bottled lemon juice, lemon flavoring, or other lemon powders (that have cutting agents or preservatives), start low and work your way up. It's not a direct one-to-one swap with other lemon products. Making lemonade was the quickest, easiest, and tastiest way to get an idea of how strong this powder is and how much sugar counteracts the tartness. For a two quart pitcher, four teaspoons of this powder and 2/3 cup of sugar was perfect for us. With the green bottle lemon juice, it was close to a cup of the juice to the same amount of sugar. If you like your lemon baked goods tart, this pure powder will do it very well without adding in any sort of funky aftertaste from reconstituted concentrates or lemon flavoring (even the natural version instead of artificial). We loved this so much we got the lime powder, and it's just as fantastically good.

I would always prefer fresh lemon juice when possible, but when we're in a hurry we like to put a pinch of this in our water. Just a little bit of lemon makes it easier for me to drink enough water. When I'm out of fresh lemons I've also used this stuff (mixed with water) to make lemonade and other drinks, to curdle milk as a substitute for buttermilk in pancakes (works great for this!), and to add a tart kick to iced tea. Oh wait - the awesomest use - cut grapes in half and sprinkle a little of this on the cut surface -- tastes like sour patch kids! For real, the closest you'll get to healthy candy. Speaking of which, we also sprinkle this stuff on things we don't want to get brown, like the surface of guacamole and on cut apple slices.

The taste is definitely lemon. Does not take alot to flavor your beverage so be careful. This bag will last for ever with using it in my daily tea. Does have an after taste though.

Delicious bright lemon flavor without the artificial ingredients. I add to sun tea, sprinkle on fish, or anywhere I want fresh lemon flavor without cutting up fresh lemons. My grandkids love lemonade made with this.

Delicious! Tastes like a fresh lemon. Using this to amp up the flavor in a lemon drizzle cake and it worked well. Makes the drizzle frosting pretty tart which we prefer. The bag is pretty big and we will find many other ways to use it.

Disappointed — Technically “Natural,” But Flavor is Candy-Level Artificial If I had known this was the flavor, I never would have purchased it. While the ingredient list is indeed simple and technically “natural” by USDA standards, what you actually get is the standardized lemon-drop candy flavor — the exact one from hard candies your grandfather might have carried in his pocket. That might be fine if you want candy flavoring, but it’s a sad substitute when you’re looking for something nuanced or gourmet. I ruined a 25-cup batch of jam because what was previously delicate and balanced was instantly overwhelmed with this blunt, one-dimensional lemon-drop taste. To be clear: this product is what it says it is. It will acidify recipes properly. But quality? No. Flavor integrity? Definitely not. It feels like another example of how “natural” labeling in America allows companies to sell us the bare minimum under the banner of quality. I’ll use up the rest, pretending I meant for my jam to taste like lemon candy. But I won’t be buying again.

I use this powder to flavor my own electrolyte drink mix. I also use it for tea. This powdered lemon works great for my needs and I will continue to use it as long as the quality holds up. One suggestion: The bag has a ziplock closure, but I also store it in a separate ziploc bag just to ensure it stays fresh/dry.
