  • Perfect for making your own cleaners at home!
Size: 2 Pound (Pack of 1)
Citric acid has quickly become a staple in my home, transforming from a simple baking ingredient into my go-to, eco-friendly, and surprisingly powerful homemade cleaner. It is derived from citrus fruits and is particularly effective at removing limescale, soap scum, and mineral deposits, often outperforming white vinegar without the pungent odor. ... show more

  • How could this happen?
Size: 2 Pound (Pack of 1)
I have been searching for a cleaner to get the hard water white scale off our shower doors and shower heads for more years than I care to admit. From CLR, to the green stuff, to Kaboom and vinegar, even barkeepers, I tried everything that promised to remove it. Some worked a little (barkeepers) but most didn't work at all. I saw this citric acid in a review of some other product that the reviewer said did not work. The reviewer said to skip the other product and try this. She called it a "miracle cleaner". OK, I was up for a miracle at this point. I figured it was worth a try. If it didn't work I could always use it to make sourdough bread. It's other name is "sour salt" when used in cooking. I diluted the powder 2 TB per 4 cups warm water as suggested. I poured it into a clean spray bottle. I sprayed the shower door. The white scale melted before my eyes. And I mean MELTED off the door. I rinsed the door with a 2 liter spray bottle (Hudson brand sold on Amazon) and the door was like new! No scrubbing, no nothing. How could this product have escaped my notice all these years? I googled citric acid and saw the many other uses for this product from cleaning the coffee pot, to cleaning tile and windows. The dirty grout in my kitchen...clean! The apple slices got soaked in a light solution before dehydrating.(Cheaper than lemon juice). Anything vinegar or lemon juice can do, this can do better. Enough said. This is exactly the same as "sour salt" in the small container. I bought this because I am never going to get a decent sourdough starter going. I've tried for several years: the hundreds of different techniques on hundreds of bread websites, the "Alaska dehydrated starter" that I ordered all the way from Utah, the "fresh starter" from some folks that said it was over 100 years old and used on the Oregon Trail no less. Well, it was time for plan Z (the cheaters way). Add 1/4 to 1/2 tsp per dough recipe (about 3 cups flour) and add an extra tablespoon of yeast and you've got sourdough bread! The first time I used it, I didn't add extra yeast. I guess this salt inhibits yeast action. (same thing happened when I tried to make sourdough bread by adding vinegar.) The second time I used it to make rye bread, I added the extra yeast and it turned out perfectly. I have also used it for sweet and sour sauce. Vinegar is still my other sour ingredient in the sauce, but this adds a real kick. Lots of my grandma's "old country Russia" recipies use this sour salt. Cabbage and meatball recipe and many soups. Look on line for great "old country" recipies. ... show more

  • Wow!
Size: 5 Pound
I'm using this to control (hopefully rid) a phorid fly infestation. It is amazing that after using this at the proper mixture how it has cleared the air of those dang flies! Who knew? It isn't advertized as bug killer but what it does do is remove the things the bugs eat.

This 5-pound bad of 100% pure, food-grade, non-GMO citric acid is exactly what I needed for my homemade toilet cleaning bombs. The quality is excellent—fine, clean, and easy to work with. I use it regularly and it never clumps or disappoints. Here’s my favorite recipe that I use to make my toilet cleaning bombs:: 1 1/4 c. baking soda 1/4 c. citric acid 1 T. water (added slowly) 25 drops orange/lemon/lavendar/peppermint essential oil 2 T. hydrogen peroxide (optional, but I add it for extra cleaning power) 1. I mix the baking soda and the citric together in a bowl. 2. In a separate bowl, I combine weather, essential oil and hydrogen peroxide. 3. I slowly add the wet mix to the dry mix stirring it constantly while I’m pouring it so it mixes well. 4. Once it starts to feel like wet sand, press it into the molds. 5. Allow it to mold and dry for 8-12 hours. 6. Store them in an airtight container. Whenever you want to use it in your toilet bowl, you drop it into the bowl itself and allow it to fizz. If you need to scrub with a brush, you can. I don’t because I use them often enough so nothing builds up. These leave the bathroom smelling so fresh and so clean! ⚠️⚠️⚠️ WARNING:: DO NOT mix this with any other cleaning products!! I ONLY use these solo by themselves!!! ⚠️⚠️⚠️ So, this citric acid is like a staaple in my home as I use it often in my DIY cleaning routine. Thus, I highly, highly recommend this for anyone making bath or toilet bombs. ... show more

  • Very good - but be careful
The product is good. But 2 things. 1, do NOT use much! Depending on how you are using the product, you can use "up to" 1/4 tsp per serving. It truly does enhance the flavor of pretty much anything you cook, bake or use for consuming. I haven't tried it in laundry or anything. I purchased it to get that "BAM" flavor with anything that has lemon in the recipe. It works ! I've used it in smoothies and even cooking chicken or stir-fry. But you really, really need to use a small amount. That 1 bag could easily last you a year, depending on how often you use it. I use it quite often and can see very little has been used. It will easily last me 2 years plus. The second thing you need to be careful with is the fact that you MUST dissolve it first! I usually dissolve what I'm going to use in a tablespoon of lemon juice. I may not dissolve quickly in just water. So if you are using it in something, make sure to dissolve it first. If you cook with it and don't dissolve it first, you'll not only crunch on the granules, but you'll "taste" the granules and they are quite potent - not a good flavor on its own. Imagine taking a bite out of a fresh lemon.... ... show more
