  • Non-dusty & Copperless
The granules are about the size and shape of road salt, and are more or less uniform in size, so it can be broadcast easily without lofting on the air or otherwise being a hassle. I wanted a fertilizer without copper in it (the blue stuff), because I sometimes transfer plants between an aquaponics system and out-doors, and I have to be mindful of my fish/worms/shrimps/snails. Copper will lay waste to all those things, so this uncomplicated mixture - without any new-age gimmickry - is exactly what I want, and for a good price because so many people are looking for fashionable products that aren't in this bag. I'm hoping the iron oxide that is included is somehow going to have a "yuck" effect on moss and slugs, because those are persistent problems I have in my sandy Michigan woodland soil. I suspect that this mix is probably best in states that don't have "red soil" because of those iron granules, but the folks that are livid about the bags being full of "rocks" or "it's not powdery" are likely in error or would prefer a "dissolve it first" type of fertilizer, which this is not. All in all, I like this stuff, and I'll probably buy a few more bags so I can get my cherry trees back on track this year. This trial bag went entirely on hazelnuts and hostas for keeping the deer close by. Beef's starting to make venison look more affordable. ... show more

  • Easy fertilizing
Love this stuff, been using it for several years. I just throw it out on everything. My lily plants have become lily bushes and my cabbages have spread to 3 ft wide so I have no rows any more, I have to jump over the cabbages.

  • Very Good Product As Advertised
Good stuff!!! But I had to get another brand, Jack's Petunia, with far less phosphate as soil tests showed way too much P in soil, locking up other nutrients and causing problems. Best to test your soil first and know for sure what it needs and doesn't.
