This is the best repair kit for larger holes (screws, big nails, etc). I have used the Dyna Plug is the past, with OK results. However, they don't handle large holes very well, as you need multiple Dyna Plugs to fill a large hole (I learned this when I picked up a larger diameter screw in my rear tire). The mushroom plugs are excellent, and the kit includes more than I will ever need! The kit is small enough to fit under a seat, too. The one plug in my rear tire hasn't leaked, and it's been in my rear tire for several months with zero air leakage...very durable!

Terribly bad. The preparation is easy, however the head of the rubber plug is too flexible and does not hold it well enough inside the tire. So after you insert it when you pull to leave it in the tire, the plug comes out and gets stuck in the plugger body.

I always patch the tire by myself. Found this product accidentally when I ran out of tire patch and looking for new one. By checking the detail, the idea is good. Given 4 stars because of product packing still can be improved. For example, the product give you a bag to put everything inside which is good. But the logo on the bag seems been glued by hand? Lots of residual glue around. Second, the mushroom plug seems need lots of oil? Because inside the package, lots of leak oil around. Idea is great, but product package still can be improved.

****UPDATE**** after more use. These mushroom plugs only work if the nail entered the tire relatively square. If the nail entered at an angle the plug will leak. It may be good enough to get you to town but it’s not a long term or permanent fix for all types of punctures. IMO the go to emergency repair is with a worm style plug. So far I think this is a cool little kit to keep in my roadside emergency kit. I’ll address a couple complaints from other reviewers. First off is comments about the plug getting stuck in the tool and pulling out of the tire. You need to understand that you are pushing a mushroom through a funnel with a metal rod, after you bottom out the tool handle it will be pinching the rubber against the funnel, back the handle off a couple of turns otherwise the tail of the plug will be pinched and not able to slide out. I wouldn’t consider this a design flaw, rather something inherent in the job being done. I still struggle trusting these plugs without glue, but I’m giving them a chance to see how they do, and so far they’re holding air. In my roadside box I keep the plastic screw plugs, traditional worm plugs, glue tread sidewall cut repair patches, and now these. Not every flat tire is a same so I keep plenty of options on hand because flat tires can happen in remote locations. I’m happy to have these in my arsenal.

I failed the first two attempts because the hole had glue residue from a different brand’s air tool, which held the mushroom too tightly to release. After cleaning the glue off this new tool, the third attempt worked perfectly. It’s been three days with no air leaks so far — I think this is a great tool worth keeping.
