Frequently asked questions

The Grace Eleyae satin lined sleep cap, also known as a Slap, is designed to protect your hair while you sleep. The satin lining helps to reduce friction and breakage, retain moisture in your hair, and prevent hair tangling and matting overnight. It's ideal for people with curly, delicate, or prone-to-tangles hair who want to maintain their hairstyle and hair health.

Yes, the Grace Eleyae sleep cap can also be worn during the day. It's stylish and resembles a beanie, making it versatile enough to wear out and about for hair protection and as a fashionable accessory.

Yes, the Grace Eleyae Slap usually features an elastic band or drawstrings to ensure a snug but comfortable fit. It typically comes in various sizes or as a one-size-fits-all cap, accommodating different head sizes and hair volumes.

To maintain the integrity of the satin lining, it's recommended to hand wash the Grace Eleyae cap with gentle detergent in cold water, then air dry. Avoid wringing it out which could damage the fabric. Always check the product care instructions specific to the cap you bought for the best results.

🚀 Abunda's Overview

This is our summary and key points to consider based on customer reviews.

The cap receives praises for its stylish design, comfort, and the satin lining’s ability to protect hair from drying out and frizziness, especially during sleep and high humidity environments. It's versatile for use both indoors and outdoors. However, a few users find that the cap can be too large for some head sizes and can slip off during the night for active sleepers.

Pros

  • 👍 Reasonable price for the quality
  • 🌙 Comfortable for night use and stylish for outdoor wear
  • 💇‍♀️ Helps keep hair moisturized and maintains hairstyles effectively
  • 🎨 Available in different colors
  • ♨ Seemingly resilient material and durable construction

Cons

  • 👎 May be too large for those with smaller heads
  • 😴 Can slip off for people who move a lot during sleep
  • 🧼 Lining may flip out, better to hand wash to maintain structure
  • 💰 Some feel the price point might be slightly high

Should I Buy It?

If you’re looking for a dual-purpose cap that protects your hair and can be worn both at night and in public, this could be a great investment. However, consider head size and sleeping habits, as it may slip off for smaller heads or restless sleepers. The price seems justified by the overall customer satisfaction with the product's performance.

  • Love it!
Size: Medium Color: Black
This is a great cap and the price is reasonable for the quality. I use mostly for night, but its very stylish and can be worn out. Its a little big for my head so it sometimes slips a bit while I'm sleeping, but I don't like things to tight on my head so I don't mind. Its very comfortable. Sometimes my head gets a little warm with it on, but mostly fine. I noticed my hair was feeling more dried out sleeping on my regular pillow. This has helped my hair not feel so dry in the morning and smoother when I brush it. I used it on a trip recently where the humidity was very high and my hair didn't turn into a frizz ball like it usually does. Very pleased and have already given it as a gift. ... show more

  • Soft and comfortable
Soft and comfortable sleeping cap that keeps my curls looking good for 2-3 days. It does occasionally fall off while I'm sleeping, but I assume that's because I roll around too much and no fault of the cap itself. If it was tighter it would probably give me a headache.

  • Ok. Too tight
Size: Medium Color: Black
Thought I was rebuying a cap that I really like. This one is not adjustable tightness and is too tight on my head. Granted, I have a big punkin head and cannot stand any pressure on it at night. Normal size heads would probably be fine. I did like that there was not a wide band to make the edges of my short hair flat. Quality seems nice but I would not wear this out of the house. I do like a silk lined bedtime cap for my curly, fine, but lots of it, chin length hair. My hair straightens easily so if it flattens iut at night it stays flat. Was really starting to feel like the back of my head was thinning but wearing a cap like this makes it much easier to fluff back up on non-wash days. ... show more

  • Pricey....But Just As Advertised
The price of this cap was such a deterrent, as I did not think that it should cost soooo much for just a small piece of material. I searched online for a better deal elsewhere. It may be cheaper on the company's site. Don't know how much I have to pay for shipping. But if it's around 8-10 bucks, I'm not saving! However, it is not just a “hat.” It’s a cap that performs “double” duty because of that satin liner. It is something that I never thought of before but just stumbled on this. I have winter hats that are likened to wearing SWEATERS on the head that I used to wear! Yet, I always sleep with a “satin” pillowcase. So, naturally when I saw this, I thought, why aren’t all hats and caps made like this? It makes perfect sense! I got this originally to wear outside, but after receiving it, I wore it to bed. Yelp. Still can’t believe I wore a hat to bed, but anyway, I did. It is very comfortable and the satin extends close to the edge. However, I did have to pull it down a little and flip it up to make it comfortable around my hairline. Prior to doing that there was an ever so slight feeling of the seam that was just a little too much for a comfortable sleep. It did not shift at all, and stayed on overnight. Usually, I don’t sleep with anything on my head or have anything on my head during the day, but I still haven’t taken the cap off…even while writing this review. It is just that comfortable. It is just the type of hat that makes you want to throw away all the other, ah em, crappy hats in the trash. I know what satin and silk does for the hair, and I know that once I remove the hat my hair will be great. I want another one! I chose the Olive Green and it looks great. I can go out in it, sleep in it, etc., without worries, AND protect my hair from the winter cold. It will probably be great for yoga too. I would also like to have one with a brim as well. But still wish that the price would go down! Highway Robbery. ... show more

  • cute, practical, and affordable
Last winter I impulsively did a big chop and decided to go natural again. But I gave myself the haircut and was self-conscious for a while, so I took to wearing hats constantly. Problem is, I only had really thick, winter beanies (I'm a New Englander) and once the weather started to warm, my hats were uncomfortable. Plus, they dried out my already prone to dryness, 4C hair. I saw ads for these slaps (satin lined caps) online and after much hesitation, I ordered one in black. I fell in love immediately. The fit is perfect, the cap is stylish, the material is light. I can wear it daily and it looks great dressed up or down. I don't sleep in it so I can't speak to its overnight staying power, but I can say that wearing one for hours, it stays put. I've had it for almost a year and the fit is still great and the material is durable. I did order another in olive green, so I do rotate them when I wear hats. My boyfriend did send the black one out with the laundry once and the lining came back flipped out. It's still firmly attached but I do think that the machines has made the lining prone to slipping out when I'm not wearing it and I have to spend time tucking it back in. So maybe just hand wash it. Highly recommend to all my natural sisters. ... show more

  • Very wide
Size: Medium Color: Black
Material is quality but the elastic is horrible and as you can see in the pictures I can still fit all my fingers inside the cap without stretching it and there's still room. Not to mention I have a rather large head so Im sure this would totally swallow a small head person.

  • The perfect cap for Black women's hair
This cap was so good that my daughter came for a visit and she took it home with her. That's great praise.

  • My husband HATED that bonnet
Size: Medium Color: Black
I will never wear anything else. I look so freakin cute with this on. My husband HATED that bonnet, but when I bought the slap cap to wear to bed, he was like "I hope you wear this all the time!". Not only is it stylish.....but it kept my hair amazing. I have bought 3 so far, and I love every one of them. I was going to get my hair done the other day and threw the slap cap on with some hair hanging down on one side. I was freaking CUUUUUUTE. I got stopped in the store about 7 times with people asking me about the cap. Even the hairdresser asked me about it. Now I did buy offline another cap called "Satin LIfe", because it was cheaper. It was horrible and ugly and it didnt stay on my head. That ugly cap is still in my drawer. I LOVE THE GRACE ELEYAE slap cap. ... show more
