These gel pens are a little funky. They come with a sticky red coating over the nib that needs to be peeled off before writing- messy and weird. Once peeled off you then need to scribble with them for awhile to activate the ink. Some of the pens needed a lot more scribbling than others. The ink does indeed erase but because using a pen leaves an imprint you can still see where it was though the ink has gone. The colors are very muted shades which I personally really liked. I’m not sure I will ever want to erase them. They come with instructions about how the ink will vanish or appear invisible if in a hot place and that your pens will stop working over a certain temp. If they do you need to put them in the freezer to reactivate. Although I like the colors and how the pen writes these seem a little high maintenance for a simple gel pen lol. Little too much gimmic over functionality.

I love the idea of erasable pens far more than I've loved actually using erasable pens. Every few months, I will buy various brands hoping that they'll be better than the others and none of them really have been. I tried really, really hard to love FriXion pens in all of their iterations but just ended up hating how they'd skip and scratch and I wrote. So I did not have high hopes for these when they arrived. However, I can happily say that I'm a convert. These pens are awesome! Once you scrape off the little red wax blob protecting the tip, writing with these is a dream. They're smooth and bold with no scratching or skipping. I ordered the "Rustic Reverie" set and I am in LOVE with the Morandi-style color scheme. The colors (with the exception of the yellow "mustard" one) are deep enough to read easily on the page. That mustard one makes a great accent color for boxing things in or highlighting important bits but imo, is too pale for extensive writing. They erase quickly and cleanly. It gets really hot where I live so I don't think it'd be a good idea for me to use these on anything I may leave in my car but that's not a lot of things for me. I will absolutely be buying the other color sets.
