Description

The GP1945 Pro is balanced with life-saving capabilities, timeless craftsmanship and one heck of a solid design. From its bolt action nib deployment, to a unique multi-tone whistle for both emergency and fun, the GP 1945 Pro works as good in the wild as it does at your desk. Plus we’ve added a host of cool features like a tough as nails tungsten steel glass breaker tip, measuring tool and a precision finger rest all in one incredible package. Designed in USA. Patent Pending. Refining the solid bolt action mechanism, we prototyped and integrated the right amount of force, smooth turnaround corners to secure the tip in the pen instead of all over your pockets. Center Bolt placement is addictive and fun to fidget in 2 different holding positions. A traditional whistle produces a monotone high pitch sound to grab attention from the rescuer. A monotone can be easily got lost in the wind. The GP1945 pen is integrated with a loud, up to 100 dB PRO whistle which is unique-designed to produce a variation of tones for attention. Adjust the vibration of the body of air by sliding your fingers along the pen clip air tunnel while blowing the whistle. It is also a simple musical instrument, a bird attractor which brings you extra fun when it is not serving as a rescuer. Made out of tungsten steel, the glass breaker's punching point is integrated on a slow slope on the top of the GP1945 Pen. The slow slope helps to lead the glass fragments away from bouncing back to the user in an emergency. Finger rest area is precisely-machined with diamond knurling texture. It is designed and dimensioned thoughtfully for a comfortable and sturdy grip while providing a quick reference to measurements of the commonly-used 1” and 10mm. The GP1945 Bolt Action Plus Pen is machined solid titanium TC4 (excellent corrosion resistance, super high strength than the commonly used T1) or aero-grade aluminum. 4 versions including the Aluminum Jet Black, Space Silver, Titanium Dark and high-polish. Excellent to own or gift. Gizmodo said it's "Incredibly Impressive!". It’s designed to last a lifetime for a user to write and create, the bolt action and multi-tone whistle are a delightful sensation to play with, the survival breaker is life-saving for yourself and others around you. And even the quick-measuring detail is subtle and useful as your EDC tool.

abunda_amazon_reviews (Review starts at second paragraph) I actually bought the Kickstarter edition back in 2017 (I know it was only a year ago). I loved that pen, yes past tense. It was part of my EDC and I used it religiously. I lost it about a week ago and have no idea what I did with it. I tried to use something in the interim but I can't fill that GP1945 sized hole in my...pocket, hand, heart? So, I ordered another one from Amazon. I'm sad I don't have my Kickstarter edition anymore, and I can swear that the one I had before was slightly heavier than the aluminum edition I ordered this time, but nothing beats the size and feel of this pen to me. I grip pens tight when I write, so the the skinnier the faster my hand starts to hurt. This pen is the perfect size for me. Now on to the review. I've not had an opportunity to actually use the glass breaker, but I have tested it, and it'll shatter what you got. The whistle works fine, but as someone pointed out, when you remove the glass break the pen clip, that acts as the slide will be loose and you'll need to hold it. That was pretty obvious to me when I looked at how the pen was held together, apparently that surprised other reviewers, however; the new one I just ordered has a separate piece than the old construction. Meaning that when you remove the glass break, the clip is still held on to the pen with another retainer, so no worries. Good on these guys for paying attention to the customer feedback and adjusting the build. The pen's bolt action is super fun. It's not super smooth to begin with, it hitches here and there on the angles, but once you've ran it through a few times it'll start to smooth out just enough to make it just right. It's super satisfying to release the bolt action as I'm putting my pen away, it's second nature to me now. Clicking a pen top is just awkward, and I love giving it to someone else and watching them try to figure out my pen :) (insert evil laughter) I get numerous compliments on it as well, and they say, man that thing looks like it can break glass. Well yes, yes it can as a matter of fact. The knurling around the finger grip is NOT soft. I read a review someplace where someone was disappointed by this, it is a diamond cut knurling in the metal, unless you get the smooth ones (I think the titanium edition). I love it though it helps with the grip in my hand and it's never been uncomfortable to me. I used to use the Dr. Pilot pens because they were well balanced and had a good size and weight. My complaint was the soft finger grip would start to slip after awhile and then the pen would just annoy me. No problems with that here. This pen is well balanced, and has a great weight. (again I think my Kickstarter was heavier which I miss, or it was in my head, but this one still has a good weight) Well it does everything else, but how does it write? I've not had any problems with the pen writing. Be aware the GP22 pen refills are small. If you do a LOT of writing I'd probably recommend something else, maybe the space pen (which I also own, but I don't like how much flow those pens have). I use my to write with daily, taking notes at work, and reminders for myself and it usually lasts me a few months. If I had to average I'd say a refill of daily use will last me about 4 - 5 months. Your mileage may vary. The pen writes smooth for me, and in all the refills I've used up til now I've never had a refill that was jammed or didn't work. Overall I'd say if you are in the market for a tactical or tacticool pen, then pick this one up. Especially from Amazon, the worst thing you'll have to do is pay return shipping if you don't like it right? Go ahead and give it a try. These guys have built a good quality pen and it's a great conversation piece. Oh I will make one note. On both of my pens the bolt action catch screws on, both kept coming slightly loose as I used them. I had to twist it back on tightly. Eventually I did it so much on my first one that it stopped coming loose. I read that someone used a little locktite on the screw which is a good idea, and if this one does come loose I may try that, but for the interim I'll keep checking it to make sure it's not loose.;;Reviewed in the United States on December 24, 2018;;4.0 out of 5 stars;;I love this pen;;Michael Conte;;;Not worth $70. Not much refill options avalible. The refills they give you are no space pen quolity. The bolt-action is in an awkward spot for me. Wouldnt be easy to fidget with. The clip is loose when you take off the glass beaker making it hard when you want to use the 'multi-tone' whitle if not useless... I drop the glass braker it seems every time i take it off. I'll try it out side where I can get really loud and I'll update if it work's at all. It's strong, light and looks nice. I read that someone used a little locktite on the screw which is a good idea, and if this one does come loose I may try that, but for the interim I'll keep checking it to make sure it's not loose.

Not worth the money. Functions awkward for me.
Not worth $70. Not much refill options avalible. The refills they give you are no space pen quolity. The bolt-action is in an awkward spot for me. Wouldnt be easy to fidget with. Whistle donsent change sound like they want you to think. The egle recording they put on the video with the guy running his fingers up and down the pocket clip off sync is a JOKE! The clip is loose when you take off the glass beaker making it hard when you want to use the 'multi-tone' whitle if not useless... I drop the glass braker it seems every time i take it off. I'll try it out side where I can get really loud and I'll update if it work's at all. It's strong, light and looks nice. The bolt action is smooth and shaped like a 'J' not like an 'L' so it's locked in nicely.

The pen itself is awesome. I work in Law Enforcement and have to do a lot of writing. What good is a pen if you can't write with it. The ink runs out entirely too fast. I think the pen is way too expensive for you not to be able to write with it long. I am pissed to say the least.

Nice
Giving it a four star review because my first order was wrong! The pen they sent me looked like it was used and returned as well. The box description was right, the pen inside was not. It was also missing the extra refill. They did ship a new one which I received in two days. Perhaps it was because I pay for the amazon prime membership which Is by the way, marvelous!! The pen looks and feels solid. The whistle is loud. The glass breaker is descreerme as well. The clip is super strong. I decided to give the aluminum casing one a try because of the $40 price point. Ordered a couple of extra refills because they are small. Not sure how long they’ll last. Will get back to all on that.

This pen would be a lot better if the insert for writing wasn’t so short
This pen would be a lot better if the insert for writing wasn’t so short, the pen ran out of ink too quickly. Also the aluminum it is made from is rather soft. I dropped it once from approximately 3 feet and it landed on the front portion of the pen. The opening bent and now I can’t write any longer.

Very durable and reliable work pen
I had bought this pen on July 2018, this pen has been very reliable and durable as I drop it many times and using it to wedge between parts of machines(nothing crazy weight) to hold temporary position. As my use of the pen may differ from someone else but I am happy with the product and it fits my needs. And too be aware that the ink cartridges that it uses will last a few months before refilling as their relatively smaller.
