TLDR; A pretty impressive optic at a great price for quality/features. App is lacking, but optic makes up for it's shortfall. Minimal gripes that don't have anything to do with operation and use, except for focus wheel being a little slick. Buy it. After purchasing my first thermal several months ago from a major retailer, I decided that I would soon purchase a second for better scanning and to use for defense of our smaller farm animals nearer the house. While I am happy with my original purchase, I wasn't so happy with the price tag. I wanted to write a decent review for those of you on the fence about what to buy and my experience. Long story short, I turned to the thermal sub-markets. I found Goyojo and their newly released compact thermal optic. With the promised specs and low price, I was skeptical. But, with a good return policy and an awesome warranty, I figure why not. Upon receipt, I was impressed with packaging. The box is modern and informative, and would look good on a retail floor. Inside of the box is a well made carry case. Inside of that case, you'll find your new thermal, battery, charger, two eye pieces, an extension for the quick release mount, extra hardware, some tools, and a data cord. There is a quick start guide, and a VERY detailed manual that is well written and easy to understand. Everything came wrapped in a bag for extra shipping protection. Optic comes with installed 64gb SD card. The thermal is well made and visually pleasing, in my opinion. Everything is made to fit together tight. The finishes feel as high end as my other thermal, as well as the lenses which have excellent clarity. Operation is fairly straight forward. Navigating the menu is forward enough to be done without first reading the manual. I actually found the 4 button layout to be much more dexterous than my other model, and I quickly mastered them without having to constantly remove my eye from the eye piece to find a button. This is a large plus for me. I was doubtful about mounting and how comfortable this thermal would be to use, however I immediately thought different when I found the mount extension in the packaging that I honestly was not expecting. In fact, I don't see it listed on the ad... but it should be as seasoned thermal owners know that these compact sights can put strain on your posture without being brought back to your eye. I actually prefer the mounting of this thermal in comparison to my other brand, as it brings the eye cup in to a very comfortable position without putting the head too far forward. The mount also allows for clearance of my mbus sights. It is, however, not the prettiest with the extension and I am not the biggest fan of the thread inserts used in the optic base. Be sure to use a #2 phillips to snug up the screws before mounting if keeping the stock mount on, I wpuld skip the screwdriver sent with it. The 18650 battery is a nice non-proprietery touch. You can keep multiples in your bag and potentially even share them with other equipment you're using, such as flashlights. The focus wheel is tight, but this makes it a little difficult to manage without gripping it from both sides, however the optic does a good job with clarity and only very minimal focusing needs to be manually done, if at all unless scanning vastly varying distances. Clarity is extremely impressive compared to my other model. It is hard to compare them side to side as my other brand thermal is a 35mm, thus I won't put up any comparison photos. The multiple modes really help with extra clarification as you toggle through them. And the digital zoom functions as you'd expect, losing clarity as you zoom in further. There are multiple shooting profiles so that you can zero multiple platforms and multiple reticle styles/colors to choose from on top. The built in compass is a nice touch. And the screen displays a nice selection of information without overwhelming the eye. There is a PIP function and a "one shot" zeroing function which I am excited about. I have not zeroed this optic but expect it to be easily done. I will also zero to multiple platforms and swap repeatedly between them to test if the optic holds zero well. The app is nice for live streaming, however it is an open source software and a little on the cumbersome side. It leaves a lot to be desired, and is honestly the largest downfall I have found so far. It is not immediately apparent to me if photos/video can be downloaded from the thermal straight to your phone. This is a spot where the other brand shines... but would easily be addressed with an independent app development that incorporates some features found by the competition, such as zeroing, photo/video transfer, software updating, etc. There is a brief pause in the feed sensor refreshes on random occasion, but it is no worse than my other brand and expected. In summary, I think that this thing deserves five stars, coming from someone who owns other thermal devices. There are improvements that can be made. But, I wouldnt hesitate to buy another optic from Goyojo. In fact, I may just do so. I will update this review should I experienced anything unsatisfactory or majorly different than my initial impressions. Pros: Quality build, lighter than other brand optic, non-proprietary battery, excellent clarity, comes with extras not included by others, visually pleasing, price, detailed manual, extremely customizable with modes and reticle options. Cons: Carry case doesn't fit with extension bolted on. Lens cover clips on, instead of hinging (will be easily lost in field). App lacks features, focus wheel hard to operate. Would prefer SD card/USB cover to be something other than a plug. Photos: Cow is at 100ish yards, mid day. Pig is at night, about 50 yards. Sheep are at night, about 65ish yards.

This thing is awesome! Seriously, especially considering the price, the value is off the charts. I had been looking for a decent thermal optic for a while, did a fair bit of research and searching around for deals, comparing, etc, and this is the one I landed on, I took the gamble on a brand I wasn't familiar with, and I couldn't be happier with the product. Just on the money aspect, to find another optic with equal specs you'd be paying an additional 50%-100%. Things like the sensor resolution (384x288), screen resolution, netd value (<25mK), and frame rate (55hz) are some of the key features. Then consider options, like reticles (customizable), zoom (3x-12x), color palettes (6), video and picture recording, memory (includes 64gb internal and can use additional memory cards), pip, automatic shot record for video, and wireless connectivity. And on top of that it has a 5 year warranty as well. Visibility: I haven't taken it shooting yet, but the specs list that it has a target detection range over 1500 yards, and from the quality of the picture, I believe it, but haven't checked on anything that distant either. It has a pretty intuitive control set-up, and it seems to be a pretty common 4 button set-up that ive seen on quite a few scopes or monoculars. It will take some learning, or make a little cheat sheet with the shortcuts written down so you know how to navigate to the exact option or feature you want. Functionality: as mentioned, it has 6 color palettes to choose from, a 3x-12x zoom function, fine tuning options for the display, ability to take pictures or video manually and automatically upon taking a shot. It has a 1 shot zero function as well (shoot target once, move the reticle onto the point if impact and it should be good to go) the blue ring towards the front is a dial to manually adjust the focus. In the box: the Goyojo Grl325 optic. Zipper carry case. Large multi language instruction manual. Lens cover. Picatiny rail mount. Battery. Battery charger. Data/charging cable and wall plug. 2 rubber eye cups. Screwdriver and Allen wrench. Lens cloth. As a side note for people unfamiliar with thermal optics, it is normal for thermals to occasionally have a brief moment of lag/latency/freeze frame for automatic calibration of the image. If you let the unit stay powered on for 5-10 minutes before using it, it helps reduce the amount that that will happen, but every single thermal ive used does this, it isnt a defect. You can also manually do screen calibration via button presses as well. My only real complaint so far, I wish it had a few more palette options, and in my book its kind of a sin to not include black hot. BUT, I did hear (little birdie told me) that there is a possibility of that being added in a future firmware update. Compare the stats and everything to any other scope on the market, then especially compare to the big name brand models that have the same or similar specs, and like I said, you'll be looking at $1400-$1800. Give Goyojo a chance to win you over like they did me. My friends are probably sick of me recommending this thing by now lol, but it really is a great purchase. In the future that we live in, next to NODs/NVG, Thermal imaging is the biggest force multiplier out there and is crucial for many tasks and scenarios, from the battlefield, to search and rescue, to hunting, to security or surveillance, thermals offer amazing situational awareness and target acquisition abilities. Its a real life super power or hack, and this is a perfect unit to get yourself into the world of thermal optics.

Just to set the stage, my only experience with thermal devices prior to this was with a FLIR One I had purchased for my Android phone. To start, this scope seems well built. It's made of an aluminum housing with a forward focus ring, a rear rubber eye cup and an easy to use picatinny rail mount. While I'm not sure of the weight but it's fairly hefty. In terms of operation, it offers several different thermal color palettes which each have their uses. My personal favorite is the green as I feel it offers more definition than the others, but that's just a personal opinion. There are also other options such as a variety of reticles, recording options, zoom options, and even a compass. I like the fact it comes with an SD card included so you can record video and photos right out of the gate. To use the button controls, the up and down arrows control the zoom, pressing the menu button changes the color palette and quick pressing the power button allows you to take photos or video. Holding the menu button provides you with options you can scroll through and select using the arrow buttons and menu button respectively. In terms of performance, while I haven't taken it out anywhere over 100 yards, it seems to do a good job. I've tested it out both during the middle of the day and also at night. In both cases I was able to focus on a target and, using the focus ring, I was able to pull more detail that I was expecting. I was honestly shocked at how clear an image I received. Even using an increased zoom (which I realize is likely digital), I felt the image was quite good. Running it at night I also learned that stones and trees retain their heat from the sun much longer than I expected. During all my testing, I found two slight issues. First, once in a while (not very often), especially while moving the scope from side to side, the video feed would freeze for a second or so as if the processor was struggling to keep up. However, this didn't happen all the time and never happened when I was focused on a target so, in my opinion, it's not a major issue. Considering the cost of other units compared to this, I'd say as long as it doesn't get worse (which it hasn't so far), it's easily acceptable. Second, the lens protector on the front of the scope sucks. It's a spring loaded style where you squeeze the two tabs together to lock it into place. However, the tabs are not deep and I have large fingers. Trying to squeeze it together without it flying off into the dark can be quite challenging. I also worry about it slipping while applying it and accidently hitting the lens with my finger. Since thermal lenses are not made of glass, extra care needs to be taken not to damage them. It would be nice if they could switch to some kind of a flip-style protector that was always attached. Overall this thing is awesome and is simply amazing to use in the field. While I can't compare it to other thermal scopes in terms of price vs performance, I will say that, based on my previous thermal experience, I found this to be quite decent and fun to use.

A buddy and I have been planning a hog hun in Texas and a thermal scope was definitely on the list. I pulled the trigger on a budget friendly one and have been pleasantly surprised. I don’t feel like I compromised. This thing is super sensitive and picks up tiny details in heat. I had my kid put his hand on the wall and when he took it away I can still see where he was touching for only a few seconds. It will connect to your phone and you can watch a live picture with keeping you eye on the scope the whole time. The clarity on the eye piece is excellent. My only annoyance is the lense cap can be a bit difficult to put back on especially if you are wearing gloves.

There is insane value to this optic specifically for it being a thermal scope. The quality feels high end including a very nice packaging presentation! The durability is really good as it does not lose zero, it keeps its zero retention. It is a QD mount optic so taking the optic off and on is super easy and like I said does not lose zero. The scope is very clear and you are able to change thermal colors which is a super cool!
