    • Brightness i actually a 6 / 5, it's amazing!
Govee has come a long way since their first smart bulbs. 10 years ago I would recommend Philips but today it's all Govee, the king of smart bulbs. With every new product comes improvements over its predecessor. These light-bars are incredible and the accessories show that they thought very carefully how people may use their product. First: Setting it up is straight forward. Plug the dongle into the wall and the lights into the dongle. The dongle itself is well designed because it comes with a 3M sticker where you can place it under or on the side of your desk. Second: It seamlessly connects with your 2.4ghz wifi. Make sure you use your "G" wifi connection like most smart appliances! It took a couple of seconds to connect from the govee app. If you use it all the time, you'll know what i mean when i say it's easy. Do make sure to enable GPS for certain versions of android though for the initial setup (it's part of android's limitations on certain OS distros). Third: The brightness is amazing, like if you stared at it for too long at full brightness, I'm sure you'll get eye damage. These lights aren't meant for you to stare directly at it at full brightness but if you do put it at full brightness you are likely going to be hiding it behind a speaker bar, under your desk etc... Fourth: You can pick how you want to use your light bars. Usually these things come with only vertical holders or if they come with the horizontal ones, they don't have 3M tape or the ability to bend forwards or backwards like this one does. This is really smartly designed. Well done! Final comments: If you're thinking of a light bar, this is it. I've bought several different kinds and they are all junk compared to this.     • Very Nice upgrade from the 6in version - very bright, but a few caveats...
Got these 16" lights since I found the smaller ones a bit too dim for me at times. I already had the Govee app, so set up was a breeze, and I'm enjoying the much brighter level for most of my settings. Couple of things to note: The "warm white to cool white" slide/color option is very different from the older shorter lamps, and tends to skew heavily to the blue spectrum right after you slide from the "very warm white" area, so you don't get a true "med. warm to white light" mix before it becomes "cool (blue-ish) white". I've tried to fix this by setting up custom colors but it's still tricky to get it to match my rooms smart bulbs white levels (not Govee), don't know what's up with that. The other is that THESE GUYS RUN VERY WARM to HOT! I know its 2x the bulbs in each tower (30) compared to the short ones (18), but wow, it's like two mini heaters, and since they are sat behind my computer monitors (that are also giving off heat, along with modern & router), it's really adding to the late summer heat level in my small home office (brightness and color does make a difference - but still very warm). Oh well, Winter's Coming - lol. All in all though, I do really like these - but 4 stars though, due to the above. ... show more

I am obsessed with these lights! I’m using them for behind the tv. I previously had a light strip (from the same brand) and I found it messy and challenging to put on. The lights eventually fell off the tv and I gave up but I wanted to try again. I love that these come with either a mount for the back of the tv or a stand so you have options. The app is easy to use and it makes the tv watching experience so much better! ... show more

    • Not as nice as its little brother, the Govee Smart LED Light Bars...
Bought the RGBIC lights to replace my Smart LED Light Bars for bias lighting for a new monitor. The construction is much thinner and the RGBIC have a slight curve which looks like the plastic didn't cool in the mold. The plastic screen used to diffuse the lighting also seems thinner and casts more shadows. They don't have the weight of the Smart LED Light Bars either. I'm keeping them regardless of the above criticism as they serve their purpose, are relatively inexpensive, and work seamlessly with the Govee app I've already been using. I purchased them to illuminate the rear (bias lighting) of my 32" flat screen monitor. I would love to have been able to mount these horizontally across but they're too big for the monitor (and its partially curved back). I have them upright, placed in their accompanying stands, to the left and right of the monitor. They fit somewhat loose but they're steady enough where I'm not worried about them falling over. These work well enough but I appreciate the quality of the the smaller, Smart LED Light Bars and their better construction, light diffusion, and weight. I wish the RGBIC TV Light Bars were just a longer version of the Smart LED but maybe the additional weight would become an issue when mounting to the back of a TV. My suggestion? If you're looking for smaller form lights, the Smart LED Light Bars cost less and work really well in smaller, contained areas (behind smaller monitors or inside of bookshelves/entertainment systems). If you're convinced you need enough light to cover a greater area, (behind a larger monitor or a smaller flat screen TV) try the RGBIC. They're of a lesser quality but they'll have greater reach and a brighter lighting effect. In some cases, I would definitely try doubling up on pairs for maximum effect.     • Great lights with a few caveats
I have this set for my desk set up & picked up another for my new tv in the bedroom. If you’re just sitting them in the stands, that’s fine. I wasn’t too keen on using the adhesive clips for these as I’ve just found them to be awful. As another user mentioned, I opted to use heavy duty Velcro & these worked out wonderfully. ... show more
