Govee 32.8 ft. Outdoor Neon Rope (no-adhesive) This is a fantastic rope running about four bucks a foot. It's taken me on a journey, so here you go: The railing on my balcony is exactly 32.10 ft. long, so without cutting this rope it fit weirdly perfect and created a perfect set of neon lines using zipties only. The tightness required on the rope with the zipties (to keep them perfectly straight) was not enough to break the lights inside the rope and it ended up looking fantastic. Everything worked perfectly for days, when someone staining the deck moved the power supply and it just stopped working. I got a replacement and felt a huge relief. This light has become therapeutic. This one works great too, and with zipties it only took a few minutes to set up. But, it had a scare in for me; Once all set up and working I messed with the "relative brightness". Changing it back created a weird effect where some of the segments wouldn't fully light on one color, only the scenes would uniformly light the rope (picture 4). Unplugging and reinstalling the app didn't fix it (it doesn't reset when unplugged and stays at the setting it was left on for convenience). My wife said "you're not going to return it for that?" I said yes, because it's not perfect. Getting ready to return this rope again, I played with the relative brightness again to full and brought it back again to 50% (where it defaults), and all the sudden the one color was uniform brightness again. So for now it's staying where it is and if anyone touches it, well... Neon rope is easy to botch, have a plan. You should spend much more time planning a light run as you do physically installing it. The power adapter says on the box "weatherproof" so I felt confident in placing it on the ground in a pot. Govee's app is pretty awesome, I have several ropes and strips for various professional purposes and the timers and color options are pretty much unparalleled for this price point. The DIY is escaping me a bit, I can't seem to get it exactly. I wish there were more slushy scenes (picture 1), rather than all the blinky stuff. PSA: the Govee COB light is very nice, seems like the next generation of this RGBIC. However the COB will not make right turns the way this RGBIC will (picture 3). COB only comes in white encasement and the longest rope is 16 feet.

Overall it is a solid product. Perhaps they are charging a bit of a premium for it as the technology is not groundbreaking(I brought l on sale). However outside of price the app and product has alot of appeal. You can choose from a variety of patterns/themes and create your own. You can Literally change each segment of the rope and get lost in the variety of options. It has a seemless integration with Alexa voice commands etc. Timers, schedules, and group control features. They provide clips for wall mounting and for ground routing. I did installed my (32ft) on the ceiling of the patio. The provide drywall anchors were not the best so I used a few better ones I had. Also the rope has some weight to it, the ceiling install required one person holding the weight while being installed. What I then had to do was use clear/white zip ties in a few places to secure the rope to is clips. It came out clean pretty clean and the 3 or 4 zips I used are not noticeable. The clips they include have a small lip that fits into a groove along the rope. It is perhaps 2mm in size which is the problem for the ceiling install. They are not deep enough to hold up without some ingenuity. For brightness I gave 4 stars with the caveat that it's intended perhaps is not for how I am using it. Is it bright and eye catching Yeats. The colors are vivid. Will the all white light at full bright be seen from space no. My goal was to have the ability to light my patio if needed to provide a softer light then my main overhead lights. (It does this well). The best example I'd say is to think of a cell phone (flashlight) it gives you light. from say 10 feet away you can see but the shadows are there . I'll posted a night picture later Again overall it is a solid product and I've added a few other govee products to the house this week that have worked just as well.

These are amazing! Best LED outdoor lights set I've ever bought. I've had a few LED rope sets running along the railing on the deck out back, and they looked "ok" for what they were but these..are great. The colors are bright, colorful and consistent. They are a solid enclosed rope without the diode showing and is seamless in light travel. The rope is able to bend and make tight turns without harming them. It comes with clips for wall mount and ground stakes. I had 2 small issues, i was trying to get the 1" clips(30 in the pack) to adhere to the vertical side of a powder coated aluminum railing on the deck. The clips come with 3m tape already on the back. and a hole for screw mounting, im not drilling into my nice aluminum railings. I followed the instructions to the letter, cleaned the railing with the supplied alcohol wipes,.and still the clips would fall off the side of.the railing. And the connector at the power cable was a little wonky. I called customer service and they were AMAZING. they sent me a brand new set! This time I stuck the clips to the railing(cleaning it again) and I waited 72 hours for the clips to get a good bond on the railing. Then I put the lights in the clips, I had 4 90° turns and 1 tight U turn and this time the clips stayed, non let go, none twisted or fell off. 3 weeks now and still no clips became unstuck. Those people who say the clips don't hold, they are not reading the instructions and just sticking them to the wall WITHOUT doing any prep before. These outdoor LED rope lights I HIGHLY recommend. PLEASE follow the instructions for using the 3m backed clips I'm a vertical surface and do the prep first. I did but they were just not liking my aluminum railings at first. Stick em, first, then wait 72 hours before hanging the rope. Let the clips get a good grip on the surface.THEN run the lights. I'm going to but more sets, shorter ones for different areas. Best LED outdoor rope lights on the market!

I bought both the Govee 65.6' and the 32.8' outdoor neon rope light kits as an upgrade to my 20 year old white rope lights on my back deck. The colors are vivid and intense, and the Govee lights app is excellent both in the pre-defined effects as well as in the creative programming. Govee has an excellent customer help section as well as fun communities to link up with. It was an easy install and well worth the money spent. Thank you Govee for making this project enjoyable.

I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the Goovy rope lighting, they’re heavy and well-made. However, the mounting clips are a major disappointment. First, the clips are white, even though I ordered the black rope version. You’d expect the clips to match, but they don’t. That’s a basic detail that shouldn’t be overlooked. Second, the 3M adhesive clips simply don’t hold the rope well. The rubber backing on the rope slips out easily, even on flat surfaces. They don’t wrap securely and offer no top coverage to keep the rope in place. I’m mounting them outside on my pergola, which makes it even worse. The design just doesn’t work for this use case. At this point, I’m seriously considering returning the whole set because of these mounting issues.

I purchased two 32' outdoor lights for my church's camp game room. Although an indoor use, the room is sometimes very humid, wet, and can occasionally have kids splashing water, so the outdoor durability was a big draw. I have a 32' indoor light in my girls' bedroom and mistakenly thought it'd be the same but waterproof and a bit more durable. We love our indoor 32' Govee rope light. This outdoor version is very similar, except it has black backing (instead of white), spikes to set the light into the ground outdoors, and, importantly for me, the outdoor version of the light does not have a control box with physical switches. With the indoor version, there is a control box where one can turn the lights on/off, dim, and change the light mode - no phone needed for basic controls. For kids in the church game room, that was the box I was going to attach to the wall so that they could easily control the lights. Without it, it'd need to only be controlled via app, which isn't practical in this setting for several reasons. No problem, I thought, as I have a Govee remote and will pair it to the lights, and people will be able to control it via the Govee remote. That didn't work either, as although the lights say they have Bluetooth, there is no option to connect the lights to a Govee remote. Govee responded to my inquiry and said that the outdoor lights have Bluetooth, but it only works via a smartphone Bluetooth, not Govee remotes. My final strikeout occurred when I tried to use the lights at my house (I don't return items unless it's unavoidable). In my front yard (pictured), my wife found the lights to be too harsh and more in line with either a fun backyard or a game room. The lights don't work in my backyard because I have dogs who love to chew and can be destructive. Also of note, the part of the cord that can get wet isn't that long (maybe 5 feet). For my setup, this really was too short - it needed to be more like 10+ feet of weatherproof wire before the lights start. Overall, if you understand the limitations and it fits your use case, I think it'll be an excellent product. I'm disappointed I didn't find a way to make this work, but still strongly recommend Govee products. I ended up purchasing the indoor version of this light for the game room.

These Gobi neon rope lights just lit up my whole patio! Bright, waterproof glow lasts forever on a charge—wrapped ’em around the fence and it looks pro level now. Easy setup, no tangles, and the colors pop even in daylight. Guests keep asking where I got them. Total win!
