Gotrax MARS Hoverboard with 6.5" LED Wheels & Music Speaker ★★★★★ (4.5 Stars rounded up!) Up and running in no time. Out of the box, easy to set up and calibrate. Ready for a test ride within 1 1/2 hours with the device plugged in to get full charge. Instructions and calibration. Although the included user's guide does have a significant amount of spelling errors, it is quite thorough and concise. Which helped because upon initial start-up the hoverboard had a slight drift on the left tire making it move backwards in a counterclockwise movement. Following instructions, I calibrate working the sensors and gyroscopes with the device's logic board, and after running the cycle three times, I have the board perfectly balanced. Big disappointment for the kiddos! The hoverboard does have a great safety feature. It can only get activated with a minimum weight of about 100 lbs. Unfortunately my seven-year-old grandson weights only 60 lbs., with his four-year-old sibling even much less. I may have to look for a hoverboard for younger kids. Rugged build. Durable hard plastic outer shell with rubber step-pads. The hoverboard has a solid amount of weight with tires that grip the pavement nicely. Bluetooth speakers. Bluetooth speaker connects seamlessly with my iPhone, loud enough but not having the most clarity. Its use does not seem to affect the battery life that much, but I still to prefer privacy using earbuds for music and audiobook listening. Five mile range. Instructions indicate a 5-mile range on a full charge which seems quite accurate. After test driving the device for approximately 2 miles, the battery indicator showed around 70% battery life remaining. Not waterproof. Important to note that this particular model is not waterproof and should not be used in wet or muddy conditions Weak torque. The hoverboard's motor appears to have rather weak torque as it struggles to transition from different surfaces and heights, i.e. a small lip or ledge or to an upslope. Overall. Great entry-level, easy to calibrate hoverboard for kids and adults over 100 lbs. Won't operate if underweight.

I've watched numerous videos of people having an easy time and a hard time learning how to ride a hoverboard. It definitely requires some practice, but it is easy to learn, and a good way to get to and from the corner store or anything within 5 miles round trip. This particular model has a self balancing feature that prevents your feet from moving too far forward or backward making it significantly easier to learn the footwork needed to navigate and stay on the board. This board has a top speed of 6 mph and a range of 5.5 miles, so it can be ridden for about an hour before needing a recharge. Avg recharge for the 200w motor is approx 4 hours. It also has lighting on the edges and wheels and a Bluetooth speaker that sounds ok - def not great, but good enough to not have to carry a separate speaker. All in all I think this is better for a younger person/teenager instead of a middle aged adult (I'm 47) but I did have fun riding and testing this hoverboard and believe that it's a safe and enjoyable way to pass a little time.
