I purchased the purple scooter for my three-year-old. She has a bike, but always wants to ride her big sister's scooter with her (way too heavy, tall, and advanced). I was looking for something lightweight, easy to control, easy to fold to store among all of her many other toys overtaking the house, but most importantly as safe as possible. This one caught my eye because of the light-up wheels. I checked the reviews to confirm that there wasn't a risk of the dreaded ankle attack many of us have experienced, and decided to give thing one a try. As the other reviews state, this scooter doesn't spin. It's also not covered in metal and is lightweight. The instructions were actually pretty simple, not too many parts and only a few steps. I say this as someone who hates putting toys together. The pictures in the paper manual weren't the best, but I was able to pull it up online and it was much clearer and only took a few minutes. We've only used it on our patio outside. It does warn to be careful using different surfaces and to avoid some completely for safety reasons and to keep the scooter functioning, which makes sense since it's for smaller kids. She had no issues with getting used to riding and controlling it, and it worked fine on the patio and the flat sidewalk in the yard. I purchased this scooter for my niece and she absolutely loves it. It’s a perfect choice for young kids because it’s fun but also safe. The 3-wheel kickboard design with a non-slip deck makes it easy for my niece to get around and the lightweight frame makes it easy for her to maneuver. With a wider base, it’s very sturdy and a great scooter for a beginner learning how to ride. It also has an adjustable handlebar that makes it easy to customize the scooter for children of different ages and heights (in case my niece decides she would like to share it with my nephew). It will also be a scooter that will stick with her as she grows. The LED lights are a crowd pleaser and definitely an added bonus. It’s a 3 wheel so it provides sturdiness to the scooter, easy to assemble, and it folds! A great starter scooter before getting them onto the 2 wheel ones. The color of the scooter is as pictured, and the lights in the wheels are very bright!! For the price, you can’t beat this scooter! This tri-wheel scooter comes in a variety of colors, and due to the modular nature of the frame with optional seat, is suitable for fairly small kids on up. My five year old loved the color scheme I chose and the light-up wheels, and the assembly is simple enough that she was able to help with all but the wheel assembly, which was the only step in the instructions that wasn't extremely easy to resolve. This particular model also comes with a built-in compass in the handle frame, and the hardened rubber wheels seem suitable for hardwood, linoleum and other hard flat surfaces, like well-maintained cement sidewalks, solid patios, tennis courts and the like. I haven't tested it on rough asphalt black top roads, but so it may not be suitable for a neighborhood with badly maintained roads.
