I got this for my grandson for Christmas last year. He loves it. It’s not one of those gifts that gets thrown into the back of the closet and never seen again. He has used it everyday. I got this for my 12 year old. I had to guide him and help balance him the first couple times of use. It does take a little time to get used to, however I feel like he mastered the use of it within about 15 minutes. He did need to build up some confidence before going on his own, but he was rolling all over the house on his own in no time. We have wooden floors and the hoverboard glided smoothly on it. The battery is long lasting. It’s durable and sturdy. It can hold a good amount of weight, so it’s great for kids and teens. My husband tried it given he is close to the weight threshold (175 pounds) and it carried him along just as easily as it did my son, it has a pretty powerful motor. It turned with ease, I was able to control the movement swiftly with my feet. I was surprised with the performance, it has some get up and go and it was much easier to use than I expected. The lights are a great addition and it even has a Bluetooth speaker. The sound quality is great and a very cool feature.

Updated 1/08/24 I reached out to Gotrax and they sent out a new hoverboard. I now have a happy 6 year old. Things happen but Gotrax made it right. Bought 2 of these for my 6 & 9yr old sons for xmas. My 9yr old's seems to be working fine however my 6yr old's is not working. One of the wheels is rubbing and not spinning freely and you can hear a grinding sound. Also the side plate to that same wheel fell off right when he took it out of the packaging. This was a present from Santa so now he's asking why Santa gave him a broken toy and how will Santa get him one that works since Santa already left. I went to go and exchange it for the same one but it's no longer available. This is NOT what I want to be doing on Christmas morning.

The media could not be loaded. So far, once they got calibrated, they have worked great and been super easy to use. Almost no learning curve for my ten-year-olds. Decent battery life. They love them. Edited to add (11/24/23): Oh my goodness! These are the absolute most durable little things ever! My girls have been giving them heavy use ever since their birthday last August and they've been nice little workhorses, but now I'm even more impressed. Last week one of my girls left her hoverboard out in the rain. Like, I don't even know how she got it so wet. When we picked it up the water was literally pouring out of it like water from a pitcher. If she had dunked it in a barrel of water I don't think it could have been wetter. I was so sure the poor hoverboard was a goner. But, ever living in hope, we let a fan blow on it for a few days to try and dry it out. Then we charged it up and she turned it on and it started right up, good as new. Seriously, the best value for the money I've had in a really long time!

We loved the hoverboards, but both had the frames break in the same way despite my kids not being even close to the weight limit. One cracked after about 4 months, so they did honor the warranty. However, the other cracked after 7 months (the one in the picture) and the frame rubs the wheel so much that it can't be used. They said that they can't replace it because the 180 warranty is expired. As much fun as they were, I can't recommend buying them when they break and become unusable so easily.
