Okay, first let me wrap my head around trying to write a review on a door mat… Hang on I need a shot of whisky! Alrighty, I can say the texture is actually quite pleasant on bare feet. The high to low thickness texture pattern works well enough to shrap any crud off your shoes, keep in mind this texture is closer to a firm carpet rather than a bristled hair or straw stalk. The edging does have a beveled edge to prevent and tripping if you’re the type who shuffles their feet or like myself who has some scary caveman like long toenails. As for washability, I think I would stick with a squirt of dish soap & blast it with the garden hose. I don’t recommend putting it in your washer machine unless your okay with black rubber scars all over the drum. This is for my back porch, the smaller of the two I ordered. Still waiting for the larger one for my front porch. My opinion on this door mat is it is a fair purchase for the interior or exterior of you entery way. Decent mat. Tacky enough to stay in place, but there is an issue with the surface material not being cut evenly to the inner borders at the corners. These mats are thin and there are quality control issues, but for $20… you get what you pay for.

This mat is fine in terms of function, the issue is the size. It looked a lot bigger in the listing, which is more of an issue with "buying junk off Amazon problem" than a fault of the mat itself.
