First of all the thongs are a good small size, sturdy. Unfortunately I didn't get to use them and I had to return them. The picture somehow makes the illusion that the bottom part is silicone. I guess I should of read the description and look better. I think they would do great for grilling but not for what I intended them for - the air fryer. There was no issue returning them.

I bought these because of the product name of these tongs, Gorilla. I used them yesterday to BBQ chicken in the oven. Really wish the tongs had more of a serrated edge on the ends to get a good hold on the food. They slipped a lot and I even dropped a chicken leg once. Note to product maker: Serrated edges to grasp food would be a plus, please.

Didn't know Gorilla made tongs, too! My OXO kicked the bucket a couple of weeks ago and had to find a replacement. I didn't want to spend $14-$16 for another OXO, so I gave Gorilla a try. Any known brand is better than any Chinese cheapos. Overall, I'm 99% happy with the purchase. It's sturdy and the scalloped edges aren't sharp. My only complaint is that it doesn't open as wide as my OXO. 10/18/22 Update: Cannot believe it has been only two weeks and rust spots have started to form. 12/30/22 Update: The locking mechanism is really rusty now, and it has gotten harder to slide it in & out. The rubber covering it is almost punctured all the way through. I guess it's from hitting it against the kitchen counter to unlock the tongs. I'm done with these.
