Description

Crystal Clear Transparent Gorilla Duct Tape features the strength of Gorilla Tape, in a crystal clear tape that does not yellow outdoors. Made with a heavy duty adhesive layer and waterproof backing for extreme durability. This tape is UV and temperature resistant - great for projects and repairs both indoors and out. Crystal Clear Gorilla Duct Tape is best if used between 10°F and 120°F. To prevent fingerprints, clean your hands prior to using the tape and handle the tape only at edge. Use a straight edge (credit card or similar object), to press out fingerprints.For best results, apply the tape to a clean surface. Airtight patches are best achieved on smooth, dry surfaces with the tape on both sides of the repair (when accessible). Tape size should be larger than the repair area, extending beyond all edges. Rub the entire surface of the tape aggressively, especially the edges. NOTE: Surface patch will gain additional strength with time. Crystal Clear Gorilla Duct Tape works best for patching with a single layer. Not for patching inflatables at seams. I have been using this stuff for 2 years now--for jobs where regular duct tape would be too noticeable, and to laminate small photographs and documents. Also, I like to use it as packing tape--to ensure nothing comes open no matter how roughly the USPS handles it, or when packing up items for storage. In terms of durability. The thing used most that I have repaired with this product has been a vinyl UTV seat I accidentally cut. Gorilla Clear has been on it two years, and it's only now starting to lift a bit at the corners. It's been exposed to dirt, water, rain, extreme heat, extreme cold, and snow--still fine. The adhesion is really great, to the point that if you put it in the wrong place, you will NOT be able to reposition it in many cases. Especially if the item is paper. The only problem is that the adhesive is so thick, you will regularly have to clean it off your tools. It gums them up quickly. So far, I've used it on vehicle seats that have been in driving rain and snow, as well as photos that have been through the washer. They all held up, so water resistance is pretty good. This stuff is definitely thick--thick mil plastic, thick adhesive as well. Some clear repair tapes I've bought were so thin, the manufacturer should've just sold it as packing tape. The one problem I have is the serrated edge along the sides of the tape. It makes hand tearing easier (although I usually cut it with scissors or a knife), but can be an area where water could get in, and it looks bad up close. All and all, I can say this stuff is great. A little expensive, and I do wish Gorilla sold it in a thicker roll. They don't make a 1.88" by 36 yard roll. I usually buy the two-pack, so it's not much of a problem. ... show more

I HAVE PURCHASED THIS TAPE BEFORE AND IT REALLY LIVES UP TO THE DESCRIPTION. IT IS SO VERY STRONG AS FAR AS ADHESION, it IS SUPER STICKY AND WILL ABSOLUTELY DO THE JOB AS DESCRIBED. IT SEALS SUPER WELL, HOLDS UP TO WEATHER… WET OR HUMID ETC. IT HAS AREAS TO HELP TEAR THE TAPE FROM THE ROLL, BUT IT IS CROOKED, CAN BE CLUMSY, AND CAUSE THE AMOUNT OF TAPE YOU WANT TO USE FOLD BACK ON ITSELF. I THINK THAT COULD HAVE BEEN THOUGHT OUT A LITTLE BETTER. I ACTUALLY USED THIS TAPE TO HOLD MY CAR’S SIDE MIRROR UP BECAUSE SOMEONE HIT MY CAR. THE HOUSING ALL CAME OUT AND THE CASING WAS DANGLING!!! IT IS HEAVY TOO BECAUSE I DRIVE A 2007 YUKON. THIS TAPE IS SO STRONG AND IT HELD MY MIRROR AND WIRES IN, AND IT HELD THE ENTIRE PIECE UP!!! THAT IS A LOT OF WEIGHT TO HOLD TOGETHER AND THIS TAPE DID THE JOB UNTIL I WAS ABLE TO GET IT FIXED!!!! I bought this tape because it was clear and I wanted to put some laminated signs up. The tape has held up in the heat and the rain (in Florida, though we're having a heatwave all across the US at the moment) and has not even begun to peel up in a month and a half so far. Additionally, the window regulator in my car door went out, so the window would not go up again once I put it down. I had to manually pull the window up to keep rain out, but while driving, the window would drop down 1/4" to 1/2" every time I hit a bump in the road. After putting another brand of silver duct tape on on the window, while at someone else's house (just to get me home that night), I woke up the next morning to find tape residue all over the window and the tape lifting up. So... I pulled out this clear gorilla tape and retaped the window until I could get it to the mechanic the next week. This gorilla tape held beautifully!!! The window didn't budge, I didn't get any moisture build up under the tape or in the car (like I did with the previous duct tape), and that window didn't budge a millimeter before I got it to the mechanic for repair. It was also a bonus that the tape was clear so that I could see when pulling into traffic or changing lanes while driving. So, this is going to be a staple in my tool kit for outdoor repairs, redneck car repairs, and any other projects requiring a strong adhesion in the elements. I cannot say this tape is easy to remove, but for what I wanted it for, I didn't want a tape that was easy to remove and this did not disappoint! ... show more

This is perhaps the best tape I have every purchased for all types of projects including sealing boxes. It's a very heavy duty tape and it's absolutely amazing. They don't give you a whole lot of tape and it's rather pricy but I think worth the quality. I'll be buying this item for sure well into the future for all my tape needs. ... show more

This tape is no joke—it’s super strong and actually stays clear, which is a win if you’re using it for something visible. I’ve used it for some light repairs and also for packaging, and it holds up great.
