If you’re running multiple GoPros this is a real must have. Battery life has been consistently strong and I use this kayaking where it’s gotten beaten on by sun for hours at a time. Simple use and pairing is generally painless process that only takes 10-15 seconds from turning both the GoPro and remote on to connecting to each other. Have tested the range up to about 30 feet thus far without issue, perhaps without any interference it may go further. Relatively easy to switch between different cameras. Using on multiple GoPro 10s. Have not had any problems with using in mild rain or getting wet since I’ll wear it on my wrist paddling. Haven’t submerged it but really no reason to test that case. I love this remote. Instead of fiddling with the camera and causing it to shake, the remote made it easy to turn on/off, set settings and check the recording status.

I use this when I ski so I can easily find out if I fumbled around with my gloves and turned my GoPro Hero 13 Black on or off by accident. So far, in below freezing temps I have had no issues getting a full day charge. There have been a few times when I have had to pair it with the GoPro on the slopes but it takes 1 minute once I got the hang of it. Slightly annoying but that may be the GoPro and not the controller. My biggest gripe would be the length of the strap that comes with it. It needs to be longer to slip further up my arm because the gauntlet gets in the way. I was able to replace the strap with longer Velcro tie down that works perfectly but it was a pain searching for something that would slip through the loop and not be too long or too short. All-in-all it makes starting and stopping recording on my GoPro so much better with winter gloves on while skiing. ... show more

This remote is outstanding compared to the previous "Smart Remote" version. I went fishing for over 8 hours with the remote on controlling 3 GoPros and the battery only went down 8%! So 1 % per hour is outstanding. The control of the cameras was flawless all day.

Poor design for longer-haul motorcycling. If you want to preserve the GoPro camera battery to last a full day for day-long rides, you need to either wire power to the camera (messy), or power-down the camera between recordings. I bought this remote to do the latter. MODE button on this remote that powers up/down the camera is extremely small, oddly-positioned, and non-tactile . I'm not able to do it successfully with gloves on. 2 stars for decent battery life and plastic not yet broken when strapping remote to bike. EDIT: 2/4/24 To be fair, you can shoot entirely using GoPro Quikcapture, which with a single click of the remote's shutter button, powers up the camera and starts capture. Next single click of the remote shutter button stops the capture and powers down the camera. On Hero 11 and above, Quikcapture works only in video mode, no photo or time lapse. On earlier models, I believe you can single click to start Quikcapture for video, double click for time lapse. These may be options for some who can't work with the small and poorly placed MODE button. Changing from 2 to 3 stars. ... show more
