SO... this is the real deal. I bought this as a replacement for my original go pro frame that broke.It's official Go Pro gear and works well. It's high quality and sturdy and doing what it's supposed to do. :) Took away one star because it just seems like this should be a bit more affordable, but... it's not.

After getting an off brand housing mount for my GoPro and it cracking within a week I decided to get an official mount again and I should have done that to begin with. Don't waste your time with knock offs.

This is a genuine GoPro frame/mount. NOT a loose-fitting, flimsy knock-off! The genuine article--THIS ONE--fits snug and secure and holds its shape when handled/removed. I bought an off-brand thinking I'd save a few bucks, but THAT was a mistake. the plastic of the knock-off was super flimsy and flexible and did not inspire my confidence that it would be able to hold my GoPro during bumpy bike rides. I won't make that mistake again. This genuine GoPro Frame will probably outlast the camera!

A tip to the unwise (like me) - when you buy a GoPro Hero 5 Black, it comes with this exact frame already. So only buy this if you want two. That said, I can't imagine why someone would buy this. After you exhaust the original one, it's likely you'll just want to get a real case - and here's why: It's very hard to un-clip, and feels like it could break pretty easily (brittle plastic, not rubberized or very flexible at all, and a thin little metal pin). It doesn't add much bulk, and doesn't block microphones, but also doesn't do anything to protect the lens or viewfinder. On the plus side, button placements and cutouts are properly spaced and work well, as one would hope from an accessory manufactured by GoPro for GoPro. So yes, there you go. This is a black piece of plastic which allows you to join your GoPro to accessories. But that's about it. If you want protection, get a real case, but then your sound will get muffled. The best solution: get a real case, and record audio separately. Cheers!

Purchased the item in order to connect battery pack to Gopro Hero 7 black and keep water resistant whilst using on racing and gravelbike. Seems to work just fine

IDK how this isn't a real GoPro product since it says it's sold by GoPro official but it's not, there were a few differences in this compared to my old frame, plus it literally came in a plastic bag with no writing on it.
