This camera has been so much fun to use on recent trips, and I’m genuinely impressed with how much it packs into such a compact design. Functionality is above par with how small this is. The picture quality is amazing...crisp colors and smooth footage that make even everyday moments look cinematic. I think it's waterproof too (?)....but I have not yet put that to the test. Battery life has been surprisingly long, which is awesome when I’m out exploring all day and don’t want to worry about charging constantly. I love that it comes with a bunch of great accessories and a hard shell case to keep everything organized and protected when I’m on the go. Even though I only use it for travel for now, I can already see how many other uses it has...whether I’m hiking, doing family videos, or just capturing random cool moments. I don’t have a YouTube channel… yet 😉 but with how easy and fun this camera is to use, I’m seriously thinking about starting one. Definitely a high-quality piece from a great brand. I highly recommend it!

So here is the deal with this camera and a failing GoPro company. After people realized that they are no longer the only option, and on top of that competition (osmo action much?) offers more at lower price they sales started to go the expected direction, much to my amusement (I owned every GoPro generation from 4 all the way through hero 9) Now instead of just admitting that they inflate the price of their products and lock you in their ecosystem (like $60 microphone adapter so you can use your own microphone) and just releasing their new flagship at a competitive price and performance they decided to cut almost everything, stuff it in a small box and call it a day. And guess what? You can still get a camera from their competitors at similar price that offers everything and more compared to their hero series. So who is this for? Other than die hard GoPro fans I see no reason to buy it. Battery life is decent for the size but not where near you'd want it to be. It works, don't get me wrong. Video and picture quality is nice, the core functionality is there, the issue is that they went with this ridiculous design just to get a piece of power end market and still lock you in to their ecosystem

The GoPro Hero Compact is a well-built, straightforward action camera that delivers a solid experience in a very small package. The compact size is excellent, and the included bundle means it's ready to start filming right out of the box without hunting for extra accessories. It offers three simple shooting modes including video, photos, and slow-motion, with adjustable aspect ratios and resolutions that give you enough flexibility without overcomplicating things. Video is recorded with a fisheye look but the "included" GoPro Quik app can linearize the footage, which looks much better for distance shots but can feel awkward for close-ups. Image stabilization is very good but requires the GoPro Quik app to utilize the feature. While indoor image quality is only average, this camera shines outdoors in bright sunlight. PROS: - Very compact. - Simple controls. Few options. - Excellent image stabilization as long as you utilize the "required" GoPro Quik app. - Good daylight performance. CONS: - I wish this camera had a more intuitive mount, rather than the "forks". - Battery will drain if QuikCapture is enabled. This is even when the camera is turned off. It will be dead in a day or two. - Indoor image quality is average. - No Bluetooth support for third-party microphones. Overall, this is a solid, no-frills action camera with good build quality and dependable performance. It keeps things simple, only offering the necessary features for a quick capture. *4 stars!
