  • Good Overall Buy
Color: Obsidian Size: 128GB Style: Phone Only
It's been about half a year since I ordered the phone and it hasn't noticeably slowed down at all. It did indeed come unlocked which is great. It came in great condition too.The battery is good its pretty similar to my last phone. The camera is amazing both front and back. It can get very very bright while also very very dim. The built-in speaker is so loud and has great quality. Love the UI its a bit different from what I'm used to but its easy to use once I got the hang of it. Overall very happy with my purchase ... show more

  • The Pixel 9 is a good value mid-range phone
Color: Obsidian Size: 128GB Style: Phone Only
I purchased the Pixel 9 in August. I had a Pixel 6A. To tell you the truth I was very happy with that phone. Alas, there were serious battery safety issues with it. Google issued a mandatory update & it severely throttled the battery. After that update the battery wouldn't charge to 100% & would run out of juice only after a few hours. I got a free battery upgrade, but it didn't help much. Anyway, on to the Pixel 9 review. I'm very happy with this phone. There are a few things to be chalked up as a learning curve, but it's very similar to my old 6A. Many people have complained about the black bezel around the perimeter of the screen. I have a case on my phone to protect it . Truthfully, I don't even notice the bezel. It's covered by the case. You probably wouldn't notice it either. There is a Pixel app that gives you a whole bunch of tips on how to maneuver around the phone. It's very helpful. I'm basically am not a fan of all this AI stuff so I turned off as much as I could. Haha, pretty funny & ironic for a me to get a phone that runs pretty much on AI! Lol! I have to say the phone runs great. I feel it's very user friendly. If you have a problem or question about it's operation, you can always Google the question & there's plenty of help out there. Initially, I was leaning towards purchasing the less expensive 9A. However, for some folks there were issues that they experienced with the initial boot up during set-up that wouldn't allow the phone to escape the boot up loop, & unfortunately had to return it. I didn't want that hassle. I kept my eyes open looking for a better price. Luckily I saw this listed for $599 on a special sale & I pulled the trigger & bought it. I'm so happy I did. I'm very happy with this phone so far. To me, it's way faster than my old phone. It has 12 gigs of RAM. I'm not really a gamer. I play Pokémon go on it with no problems at all. The battery size is 4700MAh. It lasts all day & longer depending on usage. I've noticed that the display is a lot brighter. It can go up to 2,700 nits when outside. There are many additional features that are useful. It has a crash detector in case you're in a car accident. It'll notify 911 (if you set that feature up) it's similar to OnStar. Another great feature is that it has the ability for you to contact 911 via satellite. This is useful if you're in an area that has no cell phone reception & experience an emergency. The features keep coming, it has it's own VPN for free. The camera (which is also very nice) there's a lot of neat things, too many to write down. There's editing tools like unblur & more. Overall this is a really good phone. I've had no problems with it. If you need a great mid-range phone, you should really consider purchasing the Pixel 9. ... show more

  • I Think You'll Like It Too
Color: Obsidian Size: 128GB Style: Phone Only
I have been purchasing Brand "M" phones since cellular was invented. But some recent less than stellar experiences with a flimsy foldable model and poor customer service drove me to seek out an alternative. I needed a pure Android experience - because I am so comfortable with that ecosystem, a solid and substantial build, strong phone connectivity and camera performance, robust battery life, and healthy update support; all in a manageable size. After weeks of research I settled on the Pixel 9. So - doesn't look like I'll be going back to "M" anytime soon. I'm still in the learning phase in terms of features and other small nuances after jumping brands, but I really like this phone. It feels substantial in the hand, sends & receives calls without drama, has quick screen response, nice speakers, plenty of battery life, and a clean and satisfying Android operating system. Go ahead and buy it. ... show more

  • Functional and well constructed
Color: Wintergreen Size: 128GB Style: Phone Only
I'm not happy with Google's data collection practices, but they do make a good phone. Fit and finish are excellent, the phone performs well in a wide variety of situations, and it appears to be very well constructed. Compared to the outrageous prices of iPhones, and the goofy proprietary user interface of Samsungs it's a far better value with no loss in quality or usability. If you just want a very good phone, and don't need to be trying to demonstrate your elite status or flaunt your wealth, Pixels should be your go-to choice. ... show more

  • Useability issues
Color: Obsidian Size: 128GB Style: Phone Only
My iphone is dying and I ordered this Android smartphone to save money. PROS: This Pixel 9 is very affordable compared to an iphone. It arrived in mint condition and was pretty easy to set up, transferring data from iphone to this one, even if you don’t have a lightning to C cable. The touch screen is very responsive. Overall, all operations ran quickly. However, once I set it up I found it difficult to use. CONS: It takes too many steps to execute daily functions as compared to an iphone, such as answering the phone, texting or email. It does not display Battery % on the home screen. Also, I wasnt expecting to be inundated with adds. It asks to Allow Notifications every time I open an app., even when I previously denied. It takes 2 hands to power off because you have to hold down 2 buttons on the right side, at the same time which I found very awkward to do one handed. The reason I finally decided to return it is, Face Recognition does not work in everyday low lighting, such as watching tv, outside in the evening or any situation without bright lighting. It displays a msg “not enough light”. So setting up apps. with Face ID is pointless on the Pixel 9. If you are already an Android user, this is a lovely phone and you will most likely love it. If you are an iphone user, switching to this Google Pixel 9 may be frustrating, as it was for me. The functional difference between IOS and Android smartphones is significant, which was unexpected. Amazon customer service was excellent, making return process really easy, which I appreciated. ... show more

  • Great phone for media and social.
Color: Obsidian Size: 128GB Style: Phone Only
Pixel phones , are one the best, and this phone shows why is that. Great for pictures, video, social network, etc. not a gaming phone, but can handle most of the games in the market, just make sure to find the right settings, not everything will run on "ultra" , you'd need to make some sacrifices on that one. ... show more

  • Nice phone
Bought this Pixel 9 256GB new, direct from Amazon during the early Black Friday sale. The discount was even better than Google's. Phone arrived undamaged and in working, new condition. Have had the phone for a couple of weeks. No issues so far. Upgraded from a 7 year old Moto G 5. My review is skewed by my experience that is limited to budget phones. The squared edges does get some getting used to. Screen looks good, glass doesn't smear too quickly. Audio, connection, web browsing speed are satisfactory. Camera is good. Wish there was a 3.5mm audio jack and a microSD card slot like my previous phones. Phone surface is slippery to hold without a rubbery case. Haven't had a chance to try all the AI features. Haven't experienced overheating or slow charging that other people have mentioned. But I do not play mobile games, and I use an Anker 25W charger. As a preferer of smaller phones, the 6" height of this Pixel 9 is the maximum I'd like. It is also heaver than I'm used to. I couldn't find any budget phones I liked that were 6" or smaller, and the price is out of my normal target range. But the big Black Friday discount, and the 7 years of promised software support from Google, were some of the reasons for my purchase. ... show more

  • Perfect Phone Gift.
I got this phone for a gift, they love the color. The was the perfect phone for the price. The phone came unlocked, if that helps you choose. It's a Google phone so everything works from the factory settings, so it's really easy to use. This is a great phone for someone who just wants a phone with a little bit of options and doesn't want a top tier phone price. This is a really good mid budget phone, it just turns on and functions. The only complaint I personally have with the phone was when I was setting it up I could get rid of the Google search bar widget, apparently it is coded into their operating system. ... show more
