Phone was not unlocked. Tried myself to make it work, tried the online chat help, then finally went to the store. Same result each time. Phone was locked to another carrier. Not an Unlocked phone! Ordered a replacement from elsewhere and was instantly able to transfer from my old phone to the new one myself. I did get a refund but wasted hours one day trying to get it set up, then had to return phone, and wait for refund. Do not recommend this seller based on these reviews. What a deal! Saved hundreds of dollars by going with a "renewed model", and while that can always be a gamble, I ended up with a model is PERFECT condition. Battery history showed 1 power cycle. Only difference between this and brand new was the packaging! I did run into a bit of a problem trying to transfer from a Verizon physical SIM to an eSIM. The auto transfer didn't work during initial setup and I was directed to the Verizon website. When I tried putting in the primary eSIM ID number, I was told it was not compatible, but the secondary eSIM was. I tried going through the Verizon website to get it transferred, but the website kept trying to push me to a more expensive plan. I got in the chat queue to get it sorted, and while waiting, I tried doing a SIM transfer again. And guess what.... it worked perfectly. The eSIM went to the primary slot, I didn't have to change plans, and didn't actually have to talk to Verizon. I saw others talking about issues with getting eSIMs to work, but I am guessing in a lot of situations, a solution is there even if takes some troubleshooting. This is used, not refurbished. 2 prominent scratches on the screen, 1 of which was near 2 inches long. As for the back, even worse; multiple perfectly straight almost razor blade scratches over 2 of the “pro” 3 camera lenses. Then, to further cement the absolutely used contortion, the software was not even reset. Wouldn’t that be an essential aspect of the refurbishment? No, mine was fully powered on and on the lock screen. So I have to wait 45 minutes for a full wipe and factory reset and say my prayers there’s not a Google account still attached to the hardware. The price was good for refurbished - but absolutely not for a used, worn, torn and battle-tested phone. ... show more

Should have listened to the other reviews. The device is locked to Verizon. To activate it, Verizon requires $40. The seller lists this as unlocked which is a complete lie. The screen does have some minor surface level scratches but you can’t see them unless the screen is black and you look for them.
