Description

The key concept for Danish Hygge is to enjoy life in peace and harmony. Whether we want to admit it or not, we are affected by our surroundings. Danish Hygge is about caring, and when we do not care for our surroundings, clutter begins to spread its way into our lives, and Hygge is no longer a possibility. The good news is that we can deliberately change this situation. When you start caring about your home and your surroundings you will find that you have much more time for fun and Hygge. Once you know what you appreciate, where your stuff is, and can understand the difference between what is good and what is bad for you to own, you will be free to enjoy the life that you truly deserve. Start now and experience the amazing feeling of freedom that comes from living in a home that reflects the best part of you! Read more

  • excellent & motivating book!
I really loved this book! It was very motivating & inspiring…so much so that I started clearing things out before I even finished the book! I liked the way she writes, she has a friendly & fun style. I liked her approach of what can you do without & the freedom you will get from clearing things. It’s true! Although I have some work ahead of me, the spaces that I did clear out do make me feel free & happy & I like looking at them! I also liked her thoughts on inherited clutter & it really helped me. I am also clearing out my moms things because she passed away & it gave me a new way of thinking about what to keep. I will re-read this book when I need inspiration & I hope she will write another! ... show more

  • Do it now!
This is a great little book with tips for decluttering your home and moving toward “Danish hygge.” The author has a humorous, lighthearted style. Her best tips include: a more perfect moment to declutter will never come; it is ok not to keep gifts forever; and if you do not fix a broken item in two weeks, just get rid of it! ... show more

  • Goodbye Clutter, Hello Freedom
Very simple reading. After reading Marie Kondo, you won’t learn much. It doesn’t treat much about hygge but more about decluttering your home.

  • Clearing space
After reading this book, I was inspired to go through every cupboard and closet in my apartment. I got rid of you than half my DVD s and at least a third of my clothes. What I could not share with others, I threw away.

  • Live a Happier Healthier Lifestyle
Lena Bentsen, author of the book “Goodbye Clutter, Hello Freedom,” writes an extraordinary book that takes the clutter out of your life so you can live stress free. We are all on the same journey and we cannot take our material things with us. Sure, it is fun to have what you need, but what Bentsen is writing about how we should have everything in its place and a place for everything. We all collect things and we do not know what to do with all this stuff after a while. If you are a personality type A person, clutter intrudes on your psychological state and drags you down. Type A people like to have everything clean and orderly. According to Bentsen, change is inevitable and we all can do it with her step-by-step plan. She also talks about the importance of family and how to enjoy life to the fullest. I strongly recommend this book to everyone that wants to live a happier healthier lifestyle. ... show more

  • You can do this
Less instructional than aspirational, this book combines the rudiments of tidying and cluttering techniques with a no-nonsense but friendly "just do it" approach. Bentsen focuses less on the mechanics than on changing your perspective: realizing that to care for yourself, you must care for your space. She accepts the reality and even the need for "active clutter" -- "it's a mess because I'm using it" -- and then helps the reader to keep that from becoming "passive clutter" -- the stuff you dread coming home to. The funny thing about this "aspirational" cluttering is that it has changed my thinking -- and thus my actions and my space -- more in a week than all the other "tidying up" books in my universe COMBINED. Bentsen has the key: she doesn't say "do this, then that" -- she says, "You know you want to." ... show more
