I was actually disappointed with this purchase because the mesh front is very soft yes, but the straps on the back were really rough and had a couple semi-sharp corners, which defeated the purpose of us buying this for comfort purposes. It also keeps getting scrunched up under one of my dog's armpits for some reason, despite us trying to adjust the fit. For reference, we have a 9.5 miniature dachshund and we got the Medium. The actual size of it fits around his barrel chest, but maybe the mesh unfortunately doesn't lend itself to good adjustable fit, so you just have to decide for yourself between comfortable material and adjustability. Can't have both worlds. HOWEVER, our dog honestly does not seem to notice or care or be bothered by any of this, so feel free to use that to void this whole argument.

Boston Terrier - Female 10 mos. 18 lbs. - Large Harness LOVE GOOBY and their harnesses. Ordered wrong size first time. She is 18lbs and needed LARGE harness. Gooby makes quality harnesses and I've been buying for years. Love this style as my Boston is a Houdini and can wiggle her way out of step-in harnesses and standard collars. They are so easy to put on and our Willow actually knows the routine on putting it on. She can wear it for a few minutes or sleep in it for a few hours (as pictured) and it doesn't bother her. Love the Gooby no-pull harnesses. Still in training, she likes to pull and I feel good that she is not choking or hurting herself when wearing these harnesses. WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND GOOBY HARNESSES. They are well made, will last a long time and your dog will love you for buying them!!!!

I am updating my review of this harness. My fur baby is 14 pounds with a 17 inch chest. I was afraid the large would be too big around her neck, but it fits her well. We took the straps up a good bit in the chest, but she could not have worn a medium. She's worn Gooby X harnesses since she was a pup but I was looking for something more comfortable. This one fits differently between her front legs; therefore not rubbing her. It looks comfortable on her and she didn't mind when I put it on her. There are two features I really like....the visibility and the single sturdy O Ring at the back of the neck. My fur baby is solid black and this harness makes her more visible because of the color around her neck. The X harness that fit her best had black straps and only the chest portion was a bright color. Eventually we had to replace her X harnesses because one of the straps around the two D rings would wear through. After seeing this one on her, I ordered a couple more in bright colors.

I bought this one for my cats Masha and James. They are adult cats weighing around 10lbs each. I got a size small for both of them and it fit great but the part going around the neck was loosem I just took a needle and thread to make it fit better. (The first picture show where I pulled the sides of the harness to sew it) She doesn't pull back on the harness like some other cats do. I don't know if it would be good for people with cats who are escape artists. It seems safe but I would test it out in a safe area first just to make sure. Of course she was a little uncomfortable with the harness on at first but with some treats and time, she got used to it indoors. We started going outside for short intervals recently and she's very curious. I make sure not to spend too much time and if she wants to go back in we do. It just takes time and patience to start walking cats.

Love the bright colors! Nice breathable fabric. It will work nicely for my older dog. I may have to work with the back leash connection piece. It is very stiff and the corners are sharp. It might cause soreness on the dog’s neck. It might not be durable enough for the puppy-who-chews! Haha Update now that I have received my second item, the yellow harness, size large. Pink one is size med, fits the chihuahua great. The yellow one is for a chihuahua/dachshund?/Jack Russell?. He has weird dimensions. He has the low dachshund chest circumference/sternum, but the narrow chihuahua neck with a muscular front of shoulders for a Jack Russell. He is still filling out (6 mo old) and it might fit him better later. The belly strap fits just fine and is perfectly placed for him. Right now the neck hole is a bit too big and he might....might be able to slip through. So, to amend it I will temporarily reduce the neck hole with secure stitching and cut the threads if he needs the space. In the meantime, I will see how it stands up to his chewing. Again, love the colors!

The sizing for this harness and any of there other harnesses isn’t that great. I have bought 3 of these already, was able to return 2. It doesn’t work well for dogs whose chest is big and they have a small neck size. I bought the large one at first cuz it was in the range of his chest size and this ended up being too big, so I ordered a medium. The medium one fit perfectly around his chest nice and snug but his neck was a bit loose but not by much. My dog ended up bitting the neck off when I wasn’t looking. So I bought another one in the size small, his neck fit perfectly but the chest area was way too tight... This product was recommend by a friend of mine who raves about it but it wasn’t for me. And I’m not quite pleased with this product and how there size ranges are.

I purchase these Gooby harnesses for my parents' Boston Terriers. The color choices are awesome (currently, the boy (about 20lb) has the lime green harness in a large, and I purchased a purple one in size medium for their girl (about 13 lb) a while back). They are very easy to put on, made of stretchy and breathable fabric, and last a LONG time. The dogs are fairly young and extremely rambunctious. They love yanking on each others' harnesses while playing, and yet, these harnesses still maintain their shape well and do not have any holes. The price is more than reasonable for the quality. I definitely recommend these harnesses!
