  • The only option
I record Dragon Boat races, concerts and plays. Changing batteries is not an option. This has worked great.

  • Canon 6D
I just started experimenting with astro timelapse with my Canon 6D, so I bought this to give it constant power. It's been working fine. Quick tip for 6D users: Alongside the edge of the battery compartment, there is a small rectangular rubber flap that can be popped open. Look closely because it blends in so well with the camera body. You are supposed to route the dummy battery cable through that flap, otherwise you won't be able to close the battery compartment door at all. If you can't close it, the camera will not power on. ... show more

  • Works great on EOS 70D
Best accessory I have purchased for my trusty 70D... I started using this aging camera as my primary webcam, the quality is incredible compared to standard webcams. Using the Gonine ACK-E6 is a must when using your camera as a webcam. I have had no problems with the power adapter, and it even came with a cleaning cloth and storage bag! Couple of things to watch out for: - if you run your camera for a long time (hours) be conscientious of heat. It is a power adapter, prolonged draw will increase the heat, and our cameras do not do well with excessive heat. So when possible, shut down the camera between sessions to prevent heat build up, or get a good fan to help with air flow (while trying to avoid fan noise!) - to reviewers who cannot get it to work because door will not close - DUH! Have you ever read your camera manual? The door must be closed for normal operation. That is why they have the little plastic or rubber stopper next to the battery door to allow the cord to pass through - for those who fried their camera - ya, that sucks... it is a risk for any external power supply that does not have good power regulators. My experience with Gonine is the adapter does get a little warm, but I have not experienced any functional issues to the 70D chassis so far. Gonine says they have "overcharge protection, overcurrent protection, overvoltage protection, overtemperature protection, shortage protection, and lightning protection", but how can we tell really without doing extensive testing? I guess time will tell, but so far so good (I have about 100 hours use so far) So I am happy and satisified with the Gonine ACK-E6 and would recommend to others. Cheers ... show more

  • Unlimited Power
I have a couple of batteries currently that I used when shooting photos and short videos, but it can get a bit annoying having to swap stuff out with longer recordings or while streaming video so that's where this adapter comes in. I've used it pretty consistently since getting it and have had no issues getting it to work as normal if there was a battery in it. The cable routing is setup nicely for the little rubber flap on the camera body, the cables it comes with are pretty long so I don't have to worry about it not reaching somewhere, and overall nothing else has really come up. The only thing I would be wary of is potential camera overheating which can be an issue on these slightly older bodies but even after 4+ hours mine hasn't been too warm. ... show more

  • It works!
It's a pretty good design and it seems to work just fine. I just got mine a few hours ago so I'm using it on a shoot today. I plugged it in and turned it on and everything is working. The important thing is to get the cord into the little cut-out for that and get the battery door closed. It needs that in order to complete the electrical connection. Takes a little effort at first to get it all put together, but now it seems easy. So far so good. ... show more

  • This adapter DOES NOT work for Canon R6
I have a Canon R6. Brought it, when it is time to use it, it does not provide power. After verifying the Power Connector of the adapter that goes inside the batter slot, it DOES NOT match up.

  • Canon 6D - excellent communication from seller
As some other reviewers have noted the battery level reported by the camera appears to drop over time and the camera shuts down after the value hits zero. I bought this to run a 6D over long periods (weeks or longer) so a huge problem for my use case. The seller responded immediately to my email enquiry and sent me some replacement prototype units with different chips that now work perfectly. Very impressed. ... show more

  • Much better than other AC power dummy batteries I've purchased
I'll be brief as this works as intended in my Canon 6D. I do want to point out a few things that make this better than other third-party dummy batteries I've purchased in the past. - The plug into the AC adapter fits snugly which is great. In other products I've had in the past this was the connection that would fail the most if the plug fit loose. - The connection on the other side of the AC adapter is permanently fixed so it won't pop out. Other products I've purchased in the past had removable plugs on both side of the AC adapter which increased the rate in which one would fall out or become loose. - The cord on the battery side is extra long which is great when using the camera on a taller tripod or studio stand. Other products I've used have much shorter cords which tend to pull on the AC adapter. - I like that the battery cord plugs into the AC adapter cord which gives the option to replace just the battery portion or the AC adapter in the future if ever needed. ... show more
