I used to play regularly, but don't have much chance with kids. Got this to try to work on my swing so maybe, I can start playing again some day. I will say that the felt pads didn't change color enough for me to identify my swing path. Maybe it was time of day, but don't want to be limited by that. Still giving it 5 stars as I can quickly pull this out in the grass and take some swings without having to drive to a driving range. Also much cheaper as I can send my 6 year old after the included practice balls instead of buying a bucket.

I absolutely love the directional mats. Seeing exactly how your club face is hitting and its path through the ball is a game changer. That insight has helped me greatly reshape and build the muscle memory needed to hit solid and consistent iron shots on and off the course. If you use this properly, you'll see how far behind the ball you're impacting the mat, the squareness of the clubface through impact and your swing path. Those 3 things are critical in accurate and solid contact. A few weeks of swinging your club on this will help anyone.

I had different expectations for this golf training aid. What I like about this tool is that it shows you exactly where your club makes contact, which provides instant and valuable feedback. At the driving range, it can be tough to know what your clubface did during a swing, and this tool definitely helps with that. It includes a second color changing mat, fairway grass mat and a longer grass mat, both of which feel quite realistic. I appreciate that these are part of the set. Additionally, it comes with six squishy but firm practice golf balls and two tees of different lengths. However, I wouldn’t recommend using the balls indoors unless you have a proper net set up—this is best for outdoor practice. I’ve been hitting the mat fairly hard, simulating taking divots, and I’m impressed by its durability. It hasn’t broken or punctured, which speaks to its quality construction. The reason I rated this product 3 stars is that the mat sits too far above your feet. It’s about ¾ of a golf ball height above the ground, which isn’t ideal. I have included a picture so you can see what I mean. On a real golf course, this height discrepancy can throw off your practice because you’re training under unrealistic conditions. I had hoped the mat would sit closer to the ground so I could seamlessly transition my practice at home to better performance on the course. I considered standing on the extra pads included in the set to level myself with the mat, but they’re too small and uneven to work effectively. If the manufacturer made a larger mat that was level with your feet, it would be perfect. If you’re just looking to practice your swing and get feedback on whether your clubface is hitting too short, too far, slicing, or hooking, this is a useful tool. However, if you’re hoping to use it to realistically practice your swing at home in preparation for the golf course, I wouldn’t recommend it due to the height difference. That said, the product itself is of good quality. The pads are about an inch and a half thick. It stays in place when your club strikes the mat, thanks to the included Velcro strap and the rubber base that secures the pad. The top layer also changes color to show where your club hit, and it rebounds back to normal after a quick reset with your hand or club.

First, this is a great set for a golf mat. The two heights of grass are nice, it's more than heavy enough to not move much, but the thing that I've been digging so far are the tracking mats. It's amazing to me how I consistently crappy my swing is. Why am I living with a crappy swing arc? Laziness, because I get enough good shots to keep me coming back and think the problem will fix itself. Yes, that gave me a chuckle when I wrote it down. Now with this mat I get instant feedback so I can get to know more of what I'm doing on the wrong side of the tracks when practicing, which I need to do a lot more of courtesy of the tracking mat feedback.

This kit has 4 mats (1 long grass, 1 short w/ holes for rubber tees, 2 felt mats), each can stick into the base with the Velcro strips inside the base. The grasses are nice to hit off and the felt mats are cool because they show your impact and you can use that to diagnose some of your swing issues. The problems are: 1) It is too high. It makes is awkward to hit. 2) Using real clubs is difficult because the mat will wear out. After only a few hits, it was starting to wear out. 3) The base does not stay still when hit. It slides and moves, which makes hits inaccurate.

My kid loves this golf mat. He wanted something he could use for hitting range balls and practice balls and this mat looks great and gets the job done. The little rubber tees are great and he can get a lot of swings in in just a short amount of time. It takes up very little space and is easy and quick to grab and get to swinging.
