Item is pack with different materials, however there is no instructions or suggestions on how to do proper mixing, say for snow or mud effects which could be achieved with some of the materials provided. Value wise I think it’s a fair deal, that’s why 4 out of 5… realistically should be a 3.5, but can’t do fractions… I’ll update in a few weeks once I start basing my current WiP miniatures.

I don't do the type of terrain basing this kit was designed for, but I figured it would work perfectly for a specific crafting project I'd had planned for a while. In addition, the leftover materials would no doubt be great for some smaller projects as needed. The kit itself is nice and compact, coming in a reasonably small box considering the number of different materials and glue that are included. Overall, there are six tightly sealed (no spillage in the package) materials, including bark chips, sand, and several different grass type simulations. On top of that is a bottle of basing glue. The main project I intended all this for kept getting pushed back and is still not quite started. However, I did decide to do a test run of the materials using a spare wood disc similar to the typical terrain base. Though the glue bottle comes across much like your standard elementary school variety, it applied not too thick and ultimately dried clear and virtually unnoticeable. A second application was necessary, but only because I didn't use quite enough the first time so that a few pieces were a little loose. Where I did apply it sufficiently, though, the materials were quite secure and looked great. I'm pretty happy with how the test turned out and will probably add a little polymer clay figure to it sometime soon and make a cute little figurine for my niece. Whenever my bigger project is finally complete, I can see using the remainder of the materials for similar small little figures. Overall, I'm pretty happy with the set. It seems to be a good value for its intentions. It provides a decent variety of materials with a good mix of colors and textures, allowing for some realistic and appealing looking terrain. Though intended for battlefield terrains, it is a reasonable option for multiple types of craft projects, as I have planned.

This is a nicely varied set of terrain materials, especially with the inclusion of the grass tufts. Although I don't currently have a use for the mosses, I use the bark as boulders, the gravel sand as rocks and filler, the white sand as snow and sand, and the tufts and loose static grass as grass. I don't yet have a static grass applicator so the grass comes out pointing in random directions, but that works fine for the bases I am creating. The various basing materials stick well with slightly watered down white glue, though super glue works a bit better for the premade tufts of grass. Soaking the sand with a very watered-down white glue after it dries the first time helps it freeze in place. Covering it with gesso or a mix of white glue and acrylic paint will turn it into a solid paintable surface. I have a variety of other sands and flocking materials in my basing drawer, but this kit is a good starting point. You will need containers (empty pill bottles work) since even the zip bags are heat-sealed and need to be cut open.

Nice terrain kit with a variety of substances and colors that provide an interesting mix. I’m using mine with polymer clay and a diorama to make a Mosslax from Pokopia (video game thing haha) rather than on gaming miniatures, but the scale works just as well and you get a surprising amount of coverage.
For what it is, this does feel a bit overpriced, however it’s still more affordable than if you were to purchase each substrate individually from a hobby shop — basically seems kind of the nature of terrain basing stuff.
Overall happy with how easy it is to use and how nice it looks when applied.

I have been using this terrain basing set for a short time on miniature and display projects. The kit includes a good variety of flocking materials and static grass textures, which makes it easier to create different ground effects without needing multiple separate products. The colors blend well together and add more depth to bases and scenery pieces. The included glue has worked well so far for attaching materials securely, and the flocking applies easily without clumping excessively. The materials feel lightweight and easy to work with, whether using them for smaller miniature bases or larger terrain sections. That has been my experience using it so far.
