Description

Golden Soft Gels pour from the jar. Soft Gel Gloss can be thinned and used as a non-removable isolation varnish with minimal foaming, before a final varnish topcoat is applied. Soft Clear Gel, mixed with a small amount of color, produces a brilliant glaze. All Soft Gels provide an excellent base for the wet blending of color on the canvas.

I love this product. This is my second tub.I use both full strength and also thinned with water if I want a lighter coat - and it also extends the life of the jar. Be sure and watch how do use this gel on the golden website. They have many excellent videos about their products.

    • Didn't dry clear this time, maybe needed mixing?
I have overall had great luck with Golden products, including this product. I don't know what I did differently this time compared to others, but it didn't dry clear. It is mostly translucent, but the peaks dried opaque white. Thankfully this was done on a smaller art piece and didn't ruin anything major. In the past, I have bought this in stores. I am thinking it was shaken up during transport and I didn't wait for it to settle. Or perhaps I should have stirred it (I usually don't, but maybe I should). Either way, I will be watering it down before I risk it again. ... show more
