I rarely write product reviews, but had to this time. I am not a particularly handy person, but wanted to salvage some old moldings, trim, and baseboards from my 100+ year-old home before a reno project started because I didn't think I could replace or match it with new. I found the Goldblatt tool online and decided to purchase it. There was a learning curve in the beginning because of my lack of experience, but once I figured it out, this tool was simply AMAZING. It removed smaller moldings and trim with absolute ease and it took some more time and effort with my baseboards which measured over six inches in height, but I was able to remove and salvage them. This tool was affordable, efficient, very sturdy, and most of all, it worked; it's one thing to simply remove trim, moldings and baseboard, but another to salvage it, and this tool can do both. 5 STARS!!! ... show more

    • If you are removing baseboards, get one
I've removed a lot of baseboards for flooring over the years. I only recently ran into this tool. It makes the job so much faster and easier! Score the joint between the board and the wall with a sharp knife to prevent taking paint/paper with the board, tap this down gently behind the board and lift the handle. The central part hinges up, separating the board from the wall, while the outer part spreads the load over the drywall and prevents damage to it. Re-using the baseboard is easy.     • Very effective, minimal damage to substrate, easy to use
I do a lot of new construction, usually multfamily homes, but not nearly as much remodeling. I took on a project remodeling our small bathroom, and wanted to cause as little damage as possible while removing the most old material as I could. We had to remove vinyl flooring, fiberboard wainscoting, and a chair rail. I'd normally use a pry bar for most of this stuff, but it would have smashed up our walls a bit more than I wanted to. So I sprung for this tool. I wasn't prepared for how well it would actually work! For example, on the chair rail I was able to pop every piece of it off without damaging the wall *or* the chair rail! While we didn't end up using the pieces we saved, it was good to see that we could have reused them. The leverage of this tool is really great. There was some thin plywood under the vinyl floor, with drywall screws holding it down all over. This tool was great at popping up the plywood, even popping out some drywall screws in the process.     • Worth it if you work with trim or any kind.
I was skeptical at first but decided to give it a try, as I remove and replace a lot of crown molding and baseboards at work. A lot of the time my boss asks me to try and salvage some of it and before it wasn’t the easiest but this tool works amazing. Pulls trim pieces easily, helps to save many pieces to re use again.     • A Must Have Tool for Remodeling
As a DIYer, I like to use tools that give you professional results with less skills. This tool allows you to remove old baseboard trim so easy with almost no damage to existing walls. You simply place the blade along the top edge of the trim, tap the tool so the blade slips behind it, and then pull the handle up. The tool holds pressure against the wall while prying the trim away. Super easy! It's very sturdy too, so I'm sure it will work on any tough job needing a good amount of leverage. Great invention! ... show more

    • Love it, makes removing trim a breeze!
I am a total DIY amateur at home and this thing made removing trim a breeze. I absolutely love using it because I used to always break trim using regular pry bars and now this makes removing it in one piece so easy. Just always remember to use your utility knife to score the seam or caulkline where the trim meets the walls before you use this tool to pry it away.
