- Production process: The wax-dipped ignition hemp rope is made of natural plant jute fiber through pure manual craftsmanship of wax-dipping and air-drying, and the hand feel is not greasy. Strong wind resistance, not easy to extinguish in wind, stronger wind resistance than ordinary ropes and magnesium chips.
- Burning test: There are 8 thick fire ropes in the bag. After testing, one burns for about 38 min, 388=304 min (about 5 hrs). The rope is composed of 4 thin ropes, which can be separated. Each rope burns for about 23 min, and one thick hemp rope can burn for 92 min.
- How to use: One method is to directly light the twine, which can be temporarily used as a flashlight or candle. Another method is as shown in the figure, twisting hemp rope into filaments as a kind of fire, and then using a lighter stick or iron rod, flint, match, or lighter to light the tinder.
- Use environment: After testing, the product is wind-proof and moisture-proof, and can be used in harsh and extreme weather such as rain, snow, and strong wind. It can also be used in humid rain forests, dry deserts and high-altitude mountain environments.

I wanted a tinder that is easily lighted with a ferro rod. And this works well. You have to really fluff up the fibers though. If you just have fluff it burns really fast. I found it works well to fluff one end and leave the other end tight and it lights quickly but then burns for a while. Seems pretty wind resistant as well. It was hard to blow out once it was going.

Well it catches fire quickly and it will start your fire. That’s what it’s supposed to do and it’ll work just fine. There’s enough sticks to use just one per day and there were 10 I think. It’s smart to have either. I was just wondering how it would light instead of a Vaseline ball so I bought ‘em! Keep some in your emergency kit.

Good fire starter and packaged well

I got some of this Goldace fire starter rope for a class I was giving to Cub Scouts on fire starting using ferro rods. The product comes well packaged and was easy to cut off a piece. It takes a little time to tear it up and get it down to fuzzy fiber. iI's a little sticky from the wax or whatever it's coated in. I was liking everything up till the point they were trying to get their birdnests to light. Several of the boys had issues and even though they had hot glowing charcloth the fiber just didn't want to go. I tried myself and it took a while to get it. I've lit hundreds, if not thousands of fires so it wasn't my first time. One of the other leaders had better luck and got his to go pretty quickly. We both said we weren't sure what the deal was. So I'm not sure, I'm not gonna blame the product yet, I'm going to try it again at our next camp out next month after the holidays and see if I have better luck. So I won't say it was this product as it looks well made but for whatever reason it just didn't seem to want to flare up like I'd expect something 'survival' related.
