  • Fine instrument, but not great on the quality details
I am enjoying this instrument. It has a great sound, has been well received at gigs. However, for the price, I am disappointed with the quality control. When I received it, one of the pots for the pickup was installed so poorly it wouldn't turn. Even after taking off the knob, tightening the nut and reinstalling the knob, it will turn, but it sits cock-eyed. The other pot also had to be tightened, as did the output jack. The cover for the truss rod is off center and barely covers the slot - one screw won't grab because there's not enough wood under it. All of these are relatively minor, but not what I expect in a guitar in this price range. I'll probably end up bringing it to a local shop to replace the pots, since I don't want to be removing the resonator and that's the only way to get inside. I would love to add a strap knob at the neck joint, but I'm a little concerned about the quality of finish and whether it will handle it. Another question for my local techs. Again, I'm very pleased with the instrument's sound and performance, but can't give it high marks because of the quality issues. ... show more

  • Incredible
This bass should fit every need that you could have wanting an Acoustic / Resonator in your collection. It's a very finely crafted guitar for sure, and you can tell a lot of detail was paid to this instrument. I recommend that once you get the guitar, to change the strings to some new Phosphorous Bronze Acoustic Bass Strings to get all the possoble tones out of this thing. The projection is pretty great, but if you want to play alongside a pair of guitars, it would be best to be mic'd or amped. Or you can play really loud to compensate. This thing is awesome and the pickups give it a monstrous sound, with beefy lows and clear, bright highs. This far surpasses any standard acoustic bass I've ever played easily and I am proud to own one. The only thing I would say I don't like is that the neck only has 22 Frets instead of 24, but that is only a subjective opinion, and doesn't deserve to have a penalty for it. If you're considering an acoustic / resonator, get this one. It's works wonders. ... show more

  • You will love this bass
This bass is perfect if you are tired of dragging your amps etc. to gigs. It is loud enough without the amp and with a mic is awesome. It really sounds a lot like an upright bass. It also sound fantastic if you do amp it. For me it replaced 2 other basses. That I traded for a Fender Strat Bass. Peace ... show more

  • I love this bass
I love this bass. I try never to buy junk made in China, because the low price doesn't make up for inferior quality. But this bass is a wonderful exception to the rule. This is a quality instrument, with wonderful sound. I also got the Gold Tone case for this instrument, and the case itself is beautiful and well built. If you are serious about bass, and you want a resonator bass. This is the one to buy. My only disappointment is that it is NOT a cutaway body. This makes playing at the 17th fret or higher difficult. ... show more
