I am doing some renovation and added a big 4K TV to basement that has existing CAT6 cable run. Gave this product a try in an attempt to watch my cable TV and it worked as I expected it to, I am able to get 4K HDR in my basement and didn't have to pay for the cable techs. This product gives back HDMI port so I can hook it up to the TV for the living room. I can also control my cable box just fine with the IR extension cables. I don't have any use for the audio ports. The product looks well built, hope it will last, finger crossed................

After connecting the unit it functioned, however in only less than 3 months receiver failed.

I really needed this to work to get some 4K content extended to my TV, but it proved to be more of a hassle than anything. First off, I noticed that it didn't support CEC over HDMI. My AppleTV 4K was plugged into the transceiver, but when I did, the AppleTV lost the ability to control the volume up or down or turn off the TV. Bummer there. More importantly, I discovered that having this device simply connected to the TV at the same time my Sonos Arc was on completely disrupted the HDMI ARC connection of the Sonos, rendering it completely inoperable. So while the picture was great, there was only audio to the built-in speakers of the TV... not the Sonos Arc. Overall, I'm really disappointed in the product. I had high hopes, but it let me down entirely.

Tried to use this to get ARC sound from my bedroom TV to my basement Sonos Amp. Did not work. Even tried the TOSLINK output, that also did not work.

I upgraded my projector from a 1080p unit to a 4k. There is a CAT5 cable going roughly 25' through the ceiling so I wanted to utilize that since the original construction did not include an HDMI cable. I previously used a 1080p Gofanco brand balun and it was reliable. Prior to installing this 4k unit I still had the previous 1080 Gofanco installed with the new 4k projector. After installing the new unit and 4k HDMI rated cables, I immediately saw an improvement in picture quality with 4k content and even a slight improvement with streaming 1080 material. Based on the reliability of the previously used Gofanco brand, I expect longevity from this unit. Overall I am very satisfied.

Decided to update my hdmi extender to transmit 4K hdr. So far so good! I like the loop out feature instead needing to add a splitter to the mix. Purchased on gofanco website instead to get points.
