Yes they can chip and snap at the bottom. Only if one is rough. Or endlessly doing them by hand washing. That said they are elegant show off beverages well and are easy to hold. I bought a few of the items in this bar collection such as on the rocks glasses a decanter. It made me want the whole collection of wine glasses. So piece by piece I ordered however one I received the glasses are very pretty but they look like glass and not crystal. The rim was so thick, i felt i was drinking out of a bowl.
