We are ready for our next power failure with battery and optional solar charging to keep refrigerator or other devices running for 2 days. The FedEx delivery was faster than expected, and the FedEx driver carried the 80 pound battery pack and the 40 pound solar panel up the front porch stairs by himself! He carefully placed the large packages out of direct view from the street as well -- very impressive -- thank you FedEx and Goal Zero! The battery comes with built in wheels and handles for easy transport. It may be a bit pricey, but glad we don't have to worry about gas, noise, and fumes. ... show more

So far, very pleased with this power station. Because of electrical outages, I needed something as a short (about 24 to 36 hours) term backup. So far, this unit has exceeded my power requirements. I ran a large refrigerator for over 30 hours and still had a reserve. Lights, fans, tv, recharge devices, no problem. Ask me again after the next winter, but this station works as advertised, and more. ... show more

    • Not a serious contender for emergency backup power

This is a good product if you MUST have something portable for camping, etc. However, any serious appliance (home refrigerator, coffee maker, etc) will chew through the 3Kwh battery pretty quickly. And, with only 200W of solar (assuming perfect conditions -- likely closer to 150W), it will take another day or more to charge the battery leaving you SOL for those appliances during the recharge time. Again, great for camping if you have a very well insulated 12V portable fridge, are charging your cell phones and/or running a couple LED lights but that's about it. Example: the modern home fridge/freezer used about 1.2kwh per 24hr period. That alone will drain your battery in a couple of days. It will be slowly recharging with the 200W panels but if you drain the batteries, then you'll need about 2 days of full sun (if unattached to any appliances) just to recharge them. And, that's only running the fridge (not lights, coffee maker, fans, etc). ... show more
