It's truly black! My cats love it. It was sooo easy to put together. It doesn't shed too much. It's not extremely stable but is still good. I got this while it was $70 and I feel it's worth that price. EDIT: after having it awhile it has gotten very wobbly. No matter how much I tighten it it still very loose and shaky. My cats still love it but it's just hasn't lasted as I has hoped. I also see the price has gone wayyy up but I doubt the quality has. ... show more

I bought this because it's one of the only kitty trees I could find that wasn't hideous to look at. If it's going to be a part of my home, I'd like it to at least somewhat match the decor! My cat loves it :) It provides her a place to escape from the dog that's not under the bed or couch. Like some other reviews said, the mouse didn't last long at all. But she had several hours if ridiculous fun with it....before the dog ate it. My cat is still young, and part Maine Coon. It's a great size for her now, but I'm a little afraid it will be too small as she grows. All that being said, I feel it was a good purchase. Easy to assemble, very pleasing to the eye, and kitty loves it! It is slightly wobbly though. Putting up against a wall is for sure your best bet. ... show more

My kitten adores her new play thing. She catches her cat naps at the top and in the circle. She absolutely loves the mouse attachment, although she ate off its tail and gave it a mohawk in just a couple of weeks. She rarely uses the house or the swinging rope, but shows a mild interest in them when she cares to, as cats will do. We have it positioned so it leads her right to the window ledge, which works nicely for her. The tree wobbles a bit when she's at the top but I can't tell that she even notices. Also, the height is great. I am about 5'9, and it's just perfect for my sleeping kitten to give me sweet nose kisses when she's on her uppermost platform. My goodness, I've become so cheesy since becoming a cat owner. All things considered, since claiming it as her own, kitten has come to love her toy. And we love to watch her love it.     • The good the bad and the ugly
It looks great and it's very efficient as far as the space it takes up in my small home- yet provides many levels for my kittens. I have had this for about 2 months and it is about to fall over despite adjusting ang re-tightening the rods. It's extremely wobly, like it's about to fall apart entirely every time my cats jump on it ... I have two kittens that weigh 5 and 6 pounds, so I can only imagine as they get heavier, this whole thing will collapse. Which sucks because my kittens do seem to love it. Other reviews mentioned the mouse lasting 20 minutes...true! the cat's will yank it right out, but who cares, if you are a decent pet parent they will have plenty of toys. Plus, mine still play with that mouse around the floor. It is true there is fuzzy bits from the carpet all over the floor, but I constantly vacuum cause of the kitty litter anyway, it takes a second to clean it up. Long story short--- I fugured shipping it back will be a hassel, so I went to Home Depot to buy supplies to get this thing sturdy again. A BIG issue is that the bottom of the little ladder is not attached to the base, so it serves as no support. Honestly, I was thinking two stars... but since my cats do indeed enjoy it, I gave it 3. ... show more

I love it❤️ Just arrived about 2 hours ago and I’m so in love already. It took about 20-30 minutes to put together and it was really easy. The directions weren’t very thorough especially at the end. It came with more pieces than the directions listed and the last step, (third level) doesn’t make any sense. The directions for the ladder also don’t make any sense and it misses two pieces. The pieces were in the box Though and if you have any common sense you’ll be able to figure it out quickly. It’s really stable/sturdy. It did come out of the box looking kind of dirty but then I realized it was just bits of sisal rope all over the black fur. My cat is afraid of it still. I keep putting her on it and she looks around like she’s curious but she doesn’t stay on it. Currently she’s laying on the floor next to it. Not on the bottom level, but on the tile right next to it.🙄 for $75 I hope she gets over this fear. She has played with the mouse already too! I almost thought she was too big for the little house part, but she fits in that and the tunnel really well. I don’t know how a really big cat would do with this though. She’s 1 years old this month so she isn’t tiny or very big. She left white fur on it as soon as she rubbed her back on it. She’s always climbing on and hiding inside of everything which is why I bought this. So far it’s human approved, hopefully it grows on my cat too. ... show more

    • Looks good but the quality is lacking to say the least.
I never really write reviews. However, I bought this because I loved that it was actually black. The stripes were cute and the size was what I needed. Yet, I’ve had it for about 6 months and it doesn’t stand straight (it’s been wobbly from the start). The yarn is falling off the tubes. My older tree has been with me for 4 years and it’s intact. To be fair it’s not pretty like this one but it was half the price. I guess if you only care about the looks go for it (it’s very cute). But the quality is nonexistent. It’ll only look good for a few months. I thought it’d be good for minimum a year. ... show more
