  • 5.0 out of 5 stars 2002 Suburban
Worked perfectly as per the directions. Routing around the steering column will test your patience but other than that, 45 min job.

  • 5.0 out of 5 stars I had expectations...
This is a good OE quality Delco cable! I cannot fault the cable assembly at all! But to my dismay and disappointment, the cable does not ship with the metal retaining clips(which I would consider crucial to doing this job)that lock the cable into brackets at the steering column and transmission. They are just a staple shaped type of retainer that you push into the cable end after positioning it in the bracket.Which was the problem in my case-somehow the clip at the transmission end parted ways with my 2003 Suburban and the plastic tab on the cable end broke off, resulting in inability to select Park or Reverse.Especially fun when you need your vehicle for work and you've just had a few days of snow with bitter cold. The workaround?Disconnect cable from steering column shift selector and operate manually.Good times. Cheers to Amazon, though!I initiated a return&replacement after explaining my dilemma and they said that possibly I had received one with missing parts. The replacement came with no clips :( As for the install-not technically difficult, but there are some slightly exasperating fiddly maneuvers to get the cable positioned around the steering column.Maybe I was just mad because the the clips were missing. So out came the zip ties and I re-connected the old cable to get it functioning again.I still have to source the clips, but this project is on hold till warmer weather... ... show more

  • 4.0 out of 5 stars works well
very difficult to install. takes a lot of contorting to get it hooked up completely. It may be easier if you have a lift which I do not.

  • 5.0 out of 5 stars Get rid of the wire coil that holds the original in place.
So far this shift cable is great, took a minute to install mainly thanks to me making a mountain out of a mole hill. But it works perfectly. Installed in an 04 Z71 Tahoe. Make sure to lay it next to the old so you can have it set close to the OEM spec.
