It will only work if your truck had been spec'd with it. It installed fast and looked great but if your truck had not been spec'd with the brake option the harness in the dash will not be active so the controller will not work.

Do not buy this part. Bought it for my 18 Silverado because it looked like a great fit. But the wiring that was recommended for it on Amazon does not fit. Amazon said to contact the part maker AC Delco. I contacted them and the lady was extremely rude and said to call the dealership because they don't have a wire for it. The dealership does not sell this part so they don't have the wire either. This part is basically a waste. Others said the wire from the truck fit this piece. My truck's adaptor did not fit and I couldn't find a wire that does. I will not buy AC Delco again either because of how rude they were. ... show more

Part received did not include installation instructions with much needed electronic codes which GM dealer needed to program body control module to accept integrated trailer brake switch.

    • Can’t use it..
I found out you couldn’t install without resetting the OEM on my truck that would cost nearly $300.00 ! So aftermarket it is.
