Compact, accurate, easy-to-use glucometer and app. A previous Accu-Chek meter user (also a good meter), but it required a few more button-pushes to record data and sometimes did not automatically transfer results. Roche also eliminated their phone app for their own Bluetooth meter, requiring purchase of a third-party program. Enter Contour Next One. Small form-factor, super easy to connect to the app, easy to set up and use. It took about 10 minutes to install the Contour Next One app on my Android phone, set up and connect the meter, run the control solution and take the first reading. The meter automatically transfers results, and the instant read red/green/yellow light system on the meter tells you immediately if your readings are in range. Great feature, and accuracy appears to be spot-on compared to Accu-Chek. The app is very configurable, and includes all the data you need for managing glucose levels - readings and charts, adding provider information, tracking appointments, medication, meals (with the ability to add photos) and exercise entries, report printing and exporting, and cloud storage to manage the app across devices. The kit includes everything you need to get started, including expendable supplies - lancets, strips and control solution, which actually makes the meter and lancing device free. The strips require the minimum blood sample to record, and the meter includes the ability to add samples within 60 seconds if necessary to avoid wasting strips ("Second Chance"). You can obviously use any lancing system you prefer, but the included Microlet Next lancets are available in a range of sizes (26-33 gauge) for maximum comfort and this is one of the most comfortable lancing systems I have used (Accu-Chek's FastClix is great as well). Bayer has finally done it, KUDOS Bayer on a job well done, the Contour Next One is amazing, as well as top end technology running the unit, and as simple as inserting a test strip and the unit springs to life, ready to do its job, THATS IT MAN !!!, its small, sleek, compact and sexy as hell, its fast, its accurate, the color coded light technology is basically idiot proof, I love this unit, I was afraid of the entire Glucose thing, the Contour Next One unit made it so dam simple, its insane, I highly recommend this unit, not just for its ease of use, or its technology at the insane low price, but for the value you get in the unit kit itself, and SAVINGS beyond that as well, the strips are the cheapest on the market right now, AGAIN KUDOS BAYER, WELL DONE, Keep up the great work, don't let success get to your head, A Loyal Customer, ... show more

Easy to use, connects easily with the app on my iPhone. Very happy with the inclusion of different needle sizes as I was new to this process and it helps to figure out the best size. Battery is common enough to find if needs replacement.

I bought this kit after a type 2 dx in order to get the carry case and to not have to buy everything piece meal. I'm now wishing I had shopped around more. The meter is GREAT - I love the Contour NEXT One. The meter has paired well with my phone and the readings are clear and quick. The case is a nice size and fits everything I need. The rest of the kit is less impressive. The meter came with an almost dead battery, so I'm already having to replace the battery on day two. The included lancet is awful. I've only used it for two days and I am already shopping for a replacement. It is flimsy, hard to use, and it hurts more than previous lancets I've used. The test strips work fine and are not out of date, but the container clearly states they are for use by Medicare/Medicaid beneficiaries only, which makes me question how they were obtained... ... show more
