This is a great device to have if you are diabetic. The main thing I need to note is that you will need to use your phone, Android or iPhone will work fine. I did try to pair with my iPad but it just refused to see the device. So stick to your phone. This company has two devices that look exactly the same. Only 1, this one, is sold here on Amazon. Charge your device to full. You will know it is ready when you see the battery symbol. While it is charging install the app, it will ask you to pair your device to the phone. You want to pick the first option, not the one that says SMART. As I said both devices look identical and this can confuse people. It certainly confused me…for 6 hours🤦🏽♀️ I tell you this because it was frustrating me, and I was going to return it as “ broken”. But I took one more shot and choose the top option and the app connected immediately. The app is free to download onto your phone, but it isn’t necessary. You can use the meter without the app, and write down your readings in your usual manner. There is a wealth of support in the app though, so take advantage of it. It is free. The box inventory doesn’t include a test solution aka the Control Solution. This solution would ensure that the meter is reading the strips correctly, thus giving you an accurate reading. If you get this kit and want a control solution you will need to purchase it separately. I do not use the lancing device and the lancet are old school and hurt my fingers well after testing. It looks cool though and was easy to load. I am super happy with the meter now that I have it up and running. I haven’t missed a test time yet and this is due to the great app. I already ordered my next round of test strips. I highly recommend it for type 1 and type 2 diabetics. ... show more

I wanted to monitor my glucose numbers and bought this product after reading the reviews. I wish I'd listened to the bad reviews. This monitor was wildly inaccurate. The 1st morning I used it, it gave me a fasting reading of 148, very high and in diabetic range. I had gestational diabetes with my pregnancies and they were never that high. So I was concerned I'd developed diabetes. After the very high numbers from fasting, the successive tests showed extremely low numbers even affer eating carbs (one was 65). I made an appt with my dr to have A1c and fasting glucose checked the next day because this monitor had me convinced I'd developed diabetes. I checked fasting glucose again the next day before heading to my Dr and this monitor said I was 130, still diabetic range. Had the bloodwork done at my Dr, less than 30 mins later, and my number was 90. And A1c was in normal range. Maybe I just got a wonky monitor and this one is good for everyone else. But I wanted to warn others about the inaccuracies I experienced when I used this product. ... show more

My copay of $25.00 every month for 50 strips of my prescribed tester with no additional functions. With this one I got the tester, the lancets and 100 strips for about $30.00. It is easy to use, you charge it (cable included), download the app to your phone and pair it. The app track the history and you can make notes and see trends. One of the pieces with the iHealth set of medical monitoring and recording devices. Works well and no problem synching up with my WiFi network. Great to have recordings automatically made to assess history and trends. Well packaged and arrived on time. Now if my local health care provider had a portal to receive and review the information. Doubt if they would read it. A lot of prejudice against wearables and home devices. But I read it and have successfully changed some habits to bring my measured heath parameters in line. For three years I used the Dario app and test strips with my iPhone 8. Last summer the strip reader that plugs into my iPhone just quit working. I ordered a new strip reader. That one worked until late January 2024. Roughly six months after the first one. That is when I decided to go with the iHealth Gluco+ Bluetooth Blood Glucose Monitor Kit. The device is easy to use, and I can pair it with my phone and iPad. I can read the results on either device. I upgraded my iPhone to the 15 Pro and so far it's been good. I use the iGluco app on the phone and the iHealth app on the iPad where I also track my blood pressure along with my glucose. The Glucose Monitor BG5S charges in less than an hour and so far a week later the charge is still good. iHealth also has a scale, thermometer, and oxygen sensor that can be used with their iHealth app. The data can be shared with your healthcare provider and integrates with Apple's Health app. Six months out I look forward to seeing what my health trend will look like. ... show more

This is a great little glucometer that looks and feels like a quality product. It gives you a reading in 5 seconds and has a nice carry case. The lancets are excellent and you can change the depth on the lancet device. I haven't used the app so I can't comment on that. DON'T BUY the version with only 10 strips & 10 lancets. A separate 100 pack will cost you ~$45 USD! I actually just refilled my supplies by buying another complete kit that comes with 100 of each because it's almost $20 USD cheaper than buying the refill. Plus you have a backup glucometer if your other one fails for some reason. Not sure why the manufacturer does it like that but...whatever. ... show more
