When your kid has type 1 diabetes and it’s important to test for ketones, for keeping him healthy, the pee sticks are now a thing of the past. This is a game changer. Far more accurate and by testing bg it allows you to test when kid is sleeping or sick. Keep one at home, and one with the school nurse. Only slight negative, is that the strips are expensive. Easy to set up. Easy to use. My only complaint, add isn't clear that only one of two models is Bluetooth enabled. But I found an app that lets me log results manually. I like it well enough that keeping model that I have.

I found the directions fairly easy to understand, but the meter does not work. Ketostix will show from Trace to Moderate, but meter results are between .2 and .4 (normal ketone levels are .6 and below). In other words, I am clearly in ketosis, but meter readings say that I am not. Sorry I wasted the money. ... show more
