This is such a fun little track. The car with the small UV light leaves a trailing glow on the track as the car passes. The car is fast and sometimes decides it does not like the track - when this happens be prepared because a wild chase will ensue. My kids and I spent a good 2-3 minutes chasing the car while our cat thwarted our efforts thinking it was a toy and would slap it and make it go into a different direction, which would then send us chasing after it and sliding on our wood floors. Now the cat has learned that if she just waits patiently while it is running, we will get distracted and she can pounce knocking the car off and then chasing it around like a little possessed motorized flashing demon mouse. Overall, I love the track. The only thing that I could think that would make this better would be if it had a remote control for the car so that you had to adjust to the curves, the loops and the other hazards to keep the car on the track. If you have wood floors and you put the track on the wood floors, there’s a good chance that the car will move fast enough that it will shift the track a little bit sending the car off and creating a new chat demon mouse scenario or it will inevitably takeoff faster than we can chase it and go under the couch which my kids think I am Superman and can just lift up the couch constantly while they take their sweet time getting out all the other toys they find as well that they have managed to hide under the couch. Now that I think about it, I should probably put something like an insulation strip to keep toys from going under the couch. ... show more

The Glow Slot Car Race Track Set ended up being a big hit in our house! I will say, it does take quite a while to put together, so be prepared to spend some time assembling all the pieces. The instructions could be a bit clearer, the pictures in the instructions helped. Once everything is set up, it’s totally worth it. It only comes with one car that is motorized, which was a little disappointing, especially if you have more than one kid who wants to play at the same time. We’ll probably end up buying an extra car so they can race each other. The pull back cars are fun too but not as easy to use for my boys. That said, the glow feature is really cool and makes it even more exciting to play with, especially in dim lighting. My boys absolutely love it and have been playing with it nonstop. Overall, despite the setup time and only having one motorized car, it’s a super fun toy and definitely keeps them entertained! ... show more

I picked up this Glow Slot Car Race Track Set as a present for a 5-year-old. It’s been a huge hit from the moment it was given. It’s designed for kids ages 3 to 8. Younger kids will need help building the track, but once it’s set up, they’re off and running. The glow-in-the-dark feature is definitely the standout, once you turn off the lights, the track lights up in a really fun, almost magical way that keeps them entertained for hours. Once you "charge" the track and cars under some bright lights for a few minutes, the glow-in-the-dark effect is fantastic. For a 71‑piece set, it’s incredibly easy to snap together. The 360° is the "wow" moment. The LED electric car has enough kick to make it through the loop consistently without flying off, which is a rare win for these types of sets. Everything feels lightweight but sturdy enough for regular play. Kids love to chang the layout and experimenting with different designs, especially adding the 360° loops. It’s easy enough for them to put together on their own, which is a big plus. It comes with three cars total. The 1 LED electric car is the star, but having the 2 pull-back cars means siblings can play along without fighting over the "batteries-only" one. The LED car does go through batteries if left on, so I’d recommend using rechargeables. Also, make sure the track is on a flat surface. The 360° loop needs a solid foundation to work its magic! Overall, this is a fun, creative, and engaging toy that encourages hands-on play and imagination. I’d definitely recommend it as a gift for kids in the 3 to 8 age range! It’s affordable, durable, and looks incredible with the lights off.
