  • Please don't buy this for your beginner
I have a number of years of playing flute under my belt, but hadn't played in a few years and wanted to buy a cheap flute to get back into it. I knew that the price for this instrument made this a risky choice- bottom line, it costs a lot of money to make a quality instrument. The brand was also not one I recognized, which is another red flag. But given the decent reviews and the low price I figured I'd give it a shot. This flute is significantly lighter weight than a higher quality flute. It is hard to achieve a decent tonal quality, and if I had never picked up a flute before, it'd be hard to play at all. Upon further examination I discovered that the materials used to make this flute (like the key pads) are also cheap and flimsy, making them extremely likely to break. I can play it... But I'd be very hesitant to perform with it as it just doesn't have that pure sound quality a flute should. Frankly, I wish I'd saved my money and just waited to buy a better quality flute. Instruments are an investment; a cheap instrument like this one will surely cause headaches! I just want to note for the parents out there looking for an instrument for their kids, this one is not worth it. I understand not wanting to fork over a ton of cash for an instrument you're not sure your kid will play, but I can pretty much guarantee that a child with a poorly constructed instrument that won't play properly will get frustrated and is much more likely to give up. You would be better off renting, or buying a used instrument from a reputable seller. ... show more

  • Not worth purchasing for any level player. Notes missing.
I picked this item up to play in a local orchestral band, after having lost my flute in a move many years ago. I am an intermediate level player, having played through college. If you are looking for a good value, look elsewhere. This flute was unable to play several notes whatsoever, and other notes came out sounding like a dying duck. You’re much better off buying a reputable brand name flute used than this item brand new. I did just that after returning this instrument, and for only $30 more got myself a used, well known brand name flute (Gemeinhardt) that plays so much better! ... show more

  • Plays very well, especially considering price.
I got this instrument because my previous one was in a state of disrepair, and it wasn't worth the cost to bring it into good playing condition. I thought I would roll the dice on a $100 flute, and the gamble worked out. It plays well, and the tone quality is actually quite good. It has a split E mechanism, which is very surprising. The instrument was packaged well, and the case is nice. I only have two very minor things to say in criticism; the foot joint is a tight fit (this was remedied with the included grease), and I had to make a very slight adjustment on the right hand index finger key mechanism to get B flat to speak clearly with the standard fingering. Those fixes literally together took less than a minute to accomplish, so I will still give a 5 star rating for this product, and I recommend this flute. I just got this instrument, so time will tell if there are durability issues. ... show more

  • F wont come out, horn dont work right.
I'm a advanced flute player with over 30 plus years playing and the flute came in a good amount of time however the F note will not come out. This needs to be fixed and I'm not doing it. It was a very pretty instrument but I wanted it to work, had my mind on playing "Flight of the Bumblebee" but horn dont work right. Smh please fix this instrument before you sell it again. I'm waiting for another one to come in let's see if that one work because I want a Flute!!! ... show more

  • Good flute for the price.
This is a great flute for the price. I have been playing it every day since it arrived. It sounds good and it plays better than my second hand Geminhardt student flute. I've now had this flute for two year and it stills plays well and should good. During the time I have been playing this flute my playing has improved. I play a lot of Celtic music and fiddle tunes so I can ornament the tune with grace notes and other and this flute can handle that and should good as well. ... show more

  • Good for fun & beginner
Good product for fun. I haven’t play the flute for years. Just wanted one to play a little bit for fun. So I didn’t want to spend money on something too pricy since I wasn’t trying to do something professional. Im happy with the product. It’s not expensive. The sound is ok. But pretty promising if you think about how much the thing is. ... show more

  • Amazing for the price, but scratches easily
I've just recently recieved this flute, and was super impressed by how fast it shipped. I do say, compared to higher priced flutes, this works very well. It's got my thousand dollar armstrong beat. I will warn you that it does scratch easily though. I'm not the most careful person in the word, and it already has recieved a pretty decent scratch on the headjoint. Other than the scratching easily, it seems like a pretty solid flute, and plays extremely nice, especially for the price. ... show more

  • I'm so glad I did
I'm an adult player around the intermediate range. I am so impressed with the tone of this flute and the ease to play higher octaves, I had no idea the difference it could make to upgrade, I'm so glad I did! I use the plugs for now until I can.practice more without them. I absolutely love this flute, would definitely recommend. ... show more
