Glory Silver Plated Intermediate Open/Closed Hole C Flute Bundle with Case, Tuning Rod, Polish Cloth, Joint Grease, Pair of Gloves and Screw DriverThis is the first flute I've owned and so far I'm loving it. I've played an 18th century military fife off and on for almost ten years. The fife is about the size of a piccolo, in the flute family, has no keys (hence some notes are not true), and plays in a high register than is unsuitable for indoors except for the very lowest octave. Having experience with the flute family, I decided it was time to upgrade to something that was more sophisticated and easier on the ears. On a tight budget, I was happy to find a flute for under $100 that wasn't just a student flute and had good reviews. So far I am very pleased. There was one flaw that it came with: one of the keys was missing a pad on the back finger that rested against the flute body, so the glue where the pad was supposed to attach too made the key stick. I simply cut out a thin sliver from an old cotton T-shirt and pressed it into the glue and now the key works just fine and the flute body isn't any worse for the wear. Other than the missing pad, it seems sturdy enough (handled with care as all flutes should), sounds great, and came with everything I needed to get started (except for a fingering chart, which you can look up on Google). I especially wanted to get an open holed flute, since I was used to playing the fife open holed (since there aren't any keys on it). Good thing the flute comes with plugs for the keys, because it's a lot more sensitive open holed than I imagined! Once I get used to the fingering position (much wider than on the fife) I'll take out the plugs. Meanwhile, I still have to get used to the changes in fingering and breath sensitivity compared to the fife. The flute is more finicky than the fife, but that is because I'm used to the fife. The flute should become less finicky in short order with practice. Very happy with the flute and wouldn't mind playing it for an audience, even though it wasn't several hundred dollars! Of course being cheap there are inevitably flaws in the build quality, and if I ever get a professional level flute I'll probably see the difference very quickly. However, it sounds as good as any other and with enough care it should last a good long while.

The flute plays beautifully, I was a bit skeptical because of some of the reviews but the keys aren’t noisey tone is beautiful if played correctly and the flute plays fairly easily and smoothly. It feels pretty sturdy and durable as well as being a good fit for any flute player although I wouldn’t recommend an open hole flute for a beginner.

I bought this for my daughter as a surprise gift. She was using an old used one I bought from Craigslist. She needed one today so I bought it to get her through that but the pads on it where not the best. When she started to complain that the flute was not working right I surprised her with this. She was very surprised and happy with it. Even though it is an open hole flute it does come with the plugs installed which made the music teacher happy. She wanted them to use a closed hole flute and the plugs achieve that. My daughter can now hit all the notes that she needs to hit without issue with this flute which removes the instrument as an excuse for bad notes. LOL. Very happy with this purchase and my daughter now knows that when she can't hit a note (does not happen often) it's not the flute's fault and she continues to practice till she gets it. It has increased her confidence and it sounds much better than the old one. Great deal. I would buy another one of these again without hesitation. Thanks Amazon.

Like the tone of the flute, pretty good quality for price, great functionality, easy to use for beginners, okay durability. Low C is especially hard to get out of this flute compared to others. I’ve had this for a year and other than one sticky key, there’s been no problems.

This flute is beautiful. The sound quality is excellent. The flute sounds so soft and clear. I bought this intermediate flute so that I could step up from my beginner flute which I have had for 20 years. The new Glory flute is more like a professional flute for me and it came with all the accessories that were promised. I have been looking for an intermediate flute for years but could not find one that was affordable for me until now. I am glad I made the purchase. I am planning to use my new flute this Sunday for a duet with my son who is playing the piano. Thank you for a great quality product that is affordable.

I'm a advanced flute player with over 30 plus years playing and the flute came in a good amount of time however the F note will not come out. This needs to be fixed and I'm not doing it. It was a very pretty instrument but I wanted it to work, had my mind on playing "Flight of the Bumblebee" but horn dont work right. Smh please fix this instrument before you sell it again. I'm waiting for another one to come in let's see if that one work because I want a Flute!!!

I got this instrument because my previous one was in a state of disrepair, and it wasn't worth the cost to bring it into good playing condition. I thought I would roll the dice on a $100 flute, and the gamble worked out. It plays well, and the tone quality is actually quite good. It has a split E mechanism, which is very surprising. The instrument was packaged well, and the case is nice. I only have two very minor things to say in criticism; the foot joint is a tight fit (this was remedied with the included grease), and I had to make a very slight adjustment on the right hand index finger key mechanism to get B flat to speak clearly with the standard fingering. Those fixes literally together took less than a minute to accomplish, so I will still give a 5 star rating for this product, and I recommend this flute. I just got this instrument, so time will tell if there are durability issues.
