We have 3 of these lights now. (Also gave one as a gift.) They're great for reading, knitting, sewing, or just walking around the house without having to turn lights on and off. Our house has pretty spotty lighting, and these are a terrific way of getting the light we need in the dark spots. They last for at least a few hours; less on the brightest setting and more on the lowest setting. I wouldn't try using one for jogging, but it stays put during ordinary walking. I personally enjoy being able to customize my brightness level and the tone of the light to match my needs. The light can bother a sleeping person nearby, but using the lowest brightness and turning away from the sleeper has usually worked for me. It can definitely be set dimmer than a bedside lamp, but because I can point the light exactly where I need it, I can see without bothering people around me. I really like having a light that can be recharged, so we aren't paying for (and throwing away) tons of batteries. I'm glad that it uses a c style charging cord, because we have tons of those. The structure of the case is strong and durable. They have survived regular use by adults and teenagers without any problems. I'm definitely a fan! ... show more

I love how easy this reading light is, and the adjustable brightness/color on each arm. The arms bend and hold their position well, and even withstands my frequent movement while reading. It is a bit bulkier than expected, but, it performs well and will be great for our upcoming road trips this spring/summer. The lights are bright, 3 settings plus off. It is very lightweight. It is very bendable so you can point the lights wherever you need them. The charge lasts a pretty good amount of time before recharging is necessary. The only thing I find annoying is that, since it is so light, sometimes it slips to the left or right while I’m reading. I like the 2-light approach. I had a 1-light before and it was not as good for me. It covers both pages of a 9-1/2" book easily. It has 3 light settings, the lowest being fine for reading . I can't comment on battery life because I haven't any experience with how long a charge lasts yet. It is rechargeable and comes with the charging cord that plugs into a USB type outlet. But batteries are not replaceable as far as I can tell. There is no mention of that. It fits loosely around my neck, (14 inches). But you can move the lighted ends close together to feel a little more secure. I tried to see if they would cross but they do not have enough length for that. Where ever you point the lights is where they will stay, and that is a soft malleable feel and not hard and /or too stiff. They will not stay on top of your head. Just in case you were wondering. I put 5 stars for the battery life, without any experience yet, because I feel the light is well worth it. ... show more

Great product. Well designed. Better than a table lamp if you read in bed, and much easier on your non-reading sleeping partner--which is probably the main reason for buying this product. I bought another, smaller, clip-on Glocusent model on the basis of a favorable review in the NY Times. I liked it, but the level of the light varies somewhat across the page, especially with thick books. (Not the product's fault, I don't think they can solve that problem and keep the advantages of the basic design.) This larger unit solves that problem. Keep the smaller one for travel, or for kids riding in the back seat of the car at night, or just to keep in various handy places. I bought it on impulse, not sure if I would use it much or not, but I find myself using both units much more than I expected, not only just for reading in bed before sleep. It actually helps ordinary reading in daylight. Besides those who read in bed, it's not a bad idea for hobbyists or for older people who read a lot, but whose eyes are not what they used to be. And they have good customer service. I thought I had a problem--light brown patches in the light. I reached out to customer service by email and they responded within 24 hours. It turned out. (I had not removed the protective plastic film before using. It's easy to miss. Be sure to remove it before using.) Final tip: Cross the lights in front of you so the right light shines on the left page and the left light shines on the right page. Fantastic, bright, easy to use. So affordable for the features it has. I crochet during tv and sports. Hubs doesn’t like any overhead light because it disrupts his vision of tv. This neck light is flexible and can be pointed away. It is very focused, so impact on others is minimal. And it holds its position! Different light temps and 3 levels of brightness are great for varied colors of yarn. I imagine that would help with printed material also! Great purchase, would make a great gift!!! ... show more

I have purchased similar lights and they were cheap, fell apart and quickly quit working. This light is sturdier yet still lightweight and works perfectly. I initially bought it so that I could read in bed without disturbing my husband. But now I am also using it for my needlework and any project that I need my hands free but need extra light. With the adjustable light choices, it is good for so many things, like puzzles or even when I was grilling at night and didn’t have enough light. I highly recommend this handy light.
