This is perfect for my family room pencil tree. It is made from galvanized steel which is very sturdy. It prevents my dog from knocking the tree over and looks very nice. This tree collar comes with lights. The lights are somewhat hard to install and also hard to put on and off. It would be great if it came with lights that had a timer.

This is a 50/50 review 1. The product is over-priced.. why lack of quality control the part you bolt screw together the tabs do boy line up well I had to bend mine around to get to be able to bolt together. ( wish I'd taking a photo but I'm is to late now I bent to fit so won't show how they was) 2. The look is really nice. 3. The inside lights being battery operated isn't very good. I'm older with bad knees I can't get down to turn on so useless to me..a simple string of white plug in lights works so much better.

I had no idea tree collars even existed until about 7 days ago. I really like the idea of hiding the tree stand and not having to clump up a fabric tree skirt to faux hide the tree stand. We all know what that fabric tree stand is hiding. I was one of the people who received lights with their tree collar. I received two strands of lights. I'm not certain why I did not receive three strands because there are three panels, but maybe the person who makes this collar assumes no one looks in the back of the tree so who needs lights back there anyhow. Right? I don't know. I tried (and failed) to follow the diagram for installing the lights that came with the collar. Those lights become tangled almost instantly when they are removed from the package and they are so difficult to pull through the eyeholes that it is not worth the effort. Plus the picture that shows how to install the lights has no numbers or letters or arrows so there was no way to tell where to start and where to end. It was a real goat rodeo. I got one strand of lights halfway installed, switched the button to turn them on, they blinked twice and then went out. Instead I took a strand of LED white lights (200 lights) and wrapped them around the inside base of the collar at the bottom of the stand and it looks great. I am using a tree stand (yes my Christmas tree is already up on November 4th) that is adjustable in both height and width so it was easy to fit it inside the collar. I did notice some of the 'metal' flaking off when I put the screws in. I would not purchase this collar at the full price of $100, but the sale price of $48 is reasonable and I really like the effect and I'm glad I was able to order it.

Very cute overall, but has flaws. The pieces bend easily so the snowflakes were bent and the pieces didn’t fit together easily. Even once I had them bent to align, the screws would not thread because of how they are welded. Size was also off a bit. Also, the fairy lights that light this up are a tiny switch on 2 different strings of lights you have to find and turn on every time. Therefore, overall, it was not worth the hassle and I decided to return. It is cute…if you’re willing to battle the inconvenience for the look, it definitely has the look.

My fault for not measuring and thinking my big tree would fit the smaller one. So now I have both sizes and kept the smaller one for my second tree that I didn’t put up this year, but usually do. I’m lazy and read the reviews and for $4 ordered separate fairy light that I could toss in and plug-in the wall so I could hit the light switch to turn on-off with the tree. Love the look! Honestly took 5 minutes to put together without reading the instructions.

I thought this tree collar would be nice to have, but I will be giving it away after Christmas. It is made of rustic looking metal (which I knew), and it was very hard to put together. It comes with two sets of glimmer lights that you have to string through these tiny holes on the inside of the tree collar and if you start stringing the lights the wrong way, or not in a pattern to allow the lights to be seen through the cut out star shapes, you have to start over. The lights have to be turned on manually by reaching over the top of the tree collar and finding the little housing that makes the string lights turn on, then you have to flip the black switch to turn them on, then do the same to turn them off. Not remote controlled. So, basically, it's difficult to do, plus it hurts your arm, or back, or whatever trying to reach the gadget. I don't bother to turn on the lights anymore. I hurt my back trying to get the lights to come on and it's just not worth it. So........it will be donated. It's definitely not worth the money I spent. And it comes in 3 sections with 3 screws to make it a "circle". You have to put the sections together and then string the lights while leaving one section not quite attached. Another pain to do. Poor design and definitely not worth it.

It adds a nice look to the Christmas tree. My tree stand wouldn't fit through the top hole so I had to put it together underneath the tree. It was very easy to put together. I didn't like the lights supplied so I didn't use them. I placed an extra strand of white lights inside the skirt to illuminate the base.
