Looks cooler in person! Easy assembly. It was a birthday gift for the 10 year old. He was able to jump on and go. No issues shifting gears or braking. He says it’s comfortable to ride. We shopped around for a bike with disc brakes and shocks. They are not easy to find. I’m glad we picked this one.

The media could not be loaded. I was very excited to get the Glerc 24 Inch Kids Bike for my child. The bike looked amazing in the pictures, and when it arrived, I have to say it is beautiful to look at. The colors and design really stand out. From an aesthetic point of view, it is exactly what I hoped for. Unfortunately, that’s where the good news stops. Right out of the box, the gears were put together very poorly. The rear derailleur and the front derailleur were completely off. They didn’t shift properly at all. On top of that, the rear tire was bent and wobbly. When the tire spins, the rear cassette gear also wobbles, which makes the whole bike unstable. When my child tried to ride it, the bike shook badly, making it unsafe. I decided to take it to a local bike shop, thinking maybe it just needed some adjustments. The bike mechanic looked it over and told me there were too many issues to make it worth fixing. He said it would require a lot of service time and several new parts. The total cost to get it riding safely would be close to buying a whole new bike. It’s very disappointing because the bike truly looks nice, but it simply doesn’t perform the way it should. I wish the factory assembly had been done properly, and the parts were straight and functional. Sadly, I cannot recommend this bike based on my experience. If you want something safe and ready to ride, you might be better off spending your money elsewhere.

Because we relied too much on training wheels when she was younger, our daughter is an older learner on a bike, and we wanted a bike this size (20 inches) that was super light and chainless. A bike she could learn on safely and not be too heavy for her to pedal. But also a color that's exciting for her because... let's face it... an exciting color really does matter, especially if there's a chance your kid might not want to ride a bike without training wheels. Unfortunately, many of those ultra light fancy bike companies have very few color choices, and none of them were exciting to my daughter (and research shows... to most girls, as I understand it). No bright pink anywhere, rarely even a light pink or purple. Thank goodness for this Glerc bike! It may not be as light as some bikes, but it's lighter than similar bikes found at regular retail stores (we didn't check specialty bike shops). And when we left the pedals off and used the coasting method on this bike, our daughter learned in roughly 2-3 days. She was excited about the color and the look of the bike and begged us to get on it. THANK YOU, GLERC! We're very glad you have a hot pink bike. My husband's not an expert, but he's built one bike before (the ultralight "silver" one that our daughter would try out and agreed to bear with the color, but that one had such low handle bars she was hunched over while riding, and she really hated the color, so we returned it). This bike was roughly as hard/easy to build as the other bike that we returned that came from another bike company. I was worried the handle bars would be too low on this bike compared to the seat (seems to be a trend), but they were adjustable to just the right height. We are still having trouble with getting the hand brakes right. Grandpa, who was an avid biker, says it's normal to have difficulty fiddling with adjusting hand brakes, especially if you don't have something called "spacers," which we'll look into getting before we contact the company for help. It might have been nice to have both kinds of brakes on the bike just to have that option. But even with the brakes not exactly right (or maybe they slipped... we didn't know there was a problem until later), my kid learned how to ride a bike, AND she loves this bike. I do have to admit, it looks pretty cool, and we even got one compliment from a neighbor on its looks. Oh, right, one issue we have with the brakes is an adjustment screw is stripped, so it was hard to adjust. Again, we haven't even tried to contact the company about it, so we can't comment on their service yet, but honestly, we're just grateful the company offered the bike in this color and the bike isn't too heavy.
