  • For the price, it's great!
Size: GTL-Style Color: Sunset
I bought this guitar to learn more about maintenance, intonation, and fret/board setup without risking my other expensive guitars. Being a budget guitar, it was definitely playable out of the box, but it's perfect for what I intended. The intonation is sharp almost a half step on all strings, the frets are a bit gritty, and the neck had a deep release (I'm sure for shipping purposes). The body and neck are excellent in craft and the pickups are good quality for the price point. I'm very excited to learn some skill while I sharpen this axe and see how much value I can add to the amazingly low cost. 2 week update: After replacing the nut with a bone nut (why doesn't Glarry just do this??? They cost $3 and improve the tone and clarity by 80%), blocking the frets to spec, a full intonation, and bringing the action down to spec... This tele is amazing!!!! I think the bridge pickup is just a slight bit too microphonic, even for a T style, but I'll work with the height to dial it in. Final review: Excellent beginner guitar! I say that because I now believe every guitarist should know setup and maintenance. I played guitars for 10 years without knowing how to do it. Get it, learn on it. Even if you totally mess up something, the parts are easy to replace. And the investment in your skill is worth way more than the cost of this cool guitar! ... show more

  • Build Quality is very good-good value overall
Size: GTL-Style Color: Transparent Yellow
Tools are included as well as a strap and pick. There is a very thin bag with it. Perfect for keeping the dust and moisture off of it. If you intend to move this around often, a padded bag will be much better and they are not expensive. If this is your first guitar, get a good padded bag. The body has a gloss finish that is smooth and glossy all over. Very well done. The body is basswood and very light weight. This is a 4-bolt, bolt-on neck and the backplate is very well done with a black gasket around it. All of the hardware is nice and bright. Tuners work well. The action down low in the open chord region is just fine but as you go up the neck it gets a bit out of range for optimal play. The strings as delivered are fine but this would always be the first thing that gets changed on a new guitar or bass (unless it ships with your favorite brand installed). We have not tried to adjust the neck yet because it's perfectly acceptable as-is. The neck has a matte finish and has a great feel and is not glossy. The neck radius feels very good. Most players I know tend to like the matte finish on a guitar neck. There is some slight fret-sprout. I would expect this on a new guitar like this that has traveled through different climates and was probably built quickly and not seasoned. Sprout is not an issue at this time but we will file them a bit. This has a traditional 3-saddle telecaster-style bridge. I've heard that they work fine. Overall, 4 stars for now! We will run this through some amps, change strings, adjust the neck action and see how the wood adjusts to the climate changes before we attend to the fret-sprout. Will update the review. ... show more

  • Well worth the money!
Size: GTL-Style Color: Transparent Yellow
I’m really impressed with this guitar. The neck is fat and chunky, the frets are excellent, only a couple of minimally high frets that I tapped down. I did file the fret ends and roll the fretboard and now it feels like a much more expensive guitar! The tuners are a bit stiff but they hold tune well. I expected to replace them but they are working well for now. The nut is cut well, again, i expected to replace it but it’s working fine for now. The body and finish are great. The pickups and electronics are junk. I will replace everything. Overall I’m really happy with the guitar. Buying these guitars for less than $100 and turning them into something that plays and sounds fantastic is a hobby of mine so I will buy more. Also, the bridge is surprisingly good, but I will install brass bridge saddles for better tone. ... show more

Size: GTL-Style Color: Sunset
From the Box this guitar was ready to play. It was almost in tune except 2 strings Went to set it up action was good the intonation was spot on all strings for the price you can't go wrong the pucks ups are good the bridge. Strong it did get them to balance out .Very happy with my purchase if setup correctly you have a tele without the high price. The finish is very good. Thank you GLARRY for a good product at a fare price. ... show more

  • Great value, but...
Looks great, but a little difficult to play. Fret job won't allow action to be lowered, but for a beginner, the first five frets are fine. Listed as solid body, but sounds hollow. Wafer light, but so is the tone. Great first guitar, but you get what you pay for, here.

  • How DO they do it?!
Size: GTL-Style Color: Transparent Yellow
As soon as I opened the box,I knew Glarry is serious about their instruments. The guitar was totally encased in a Styrofoam "sarcophagus" that offers incredible protection. The guitar itself is simply beautiful. The color on mine is not so much a yellow as it is a darker "honey" brown which, to me, is even nicer. It took about ten minutes of minor string height and intonation adjustments to get a perfect feel for me. The tuners are solid with little to no play and, so far, they've maintained their tune. I'm certainly not a pro musician, but when I plugged into my little Drive amp I was really impressed by the tone an punch of both pickups and the smooth operation of the controls. Overall, I cannot see how you can do better for this (or maybe any other?) price. ... show more

  • Very good for the price.
Size: GTL-Style Color: Transparent Yellow
I bought this for a project, just for the body, turns out, they have their own specific cut and can't be used with fender/squier parts. Fair enough. The maple neck was very raw, and needed and extra sanding. Be careful sanding the fretboard, the frets will turn the wood grey... Fret work itself was quite good, save for a few frets popping out that were beaten back into place. Body is pretty. Extremely light. Hardware is good. Pickups are complete trash, with the bridge being more useable. My suspicion is that the cover on the neck pickup is made of copper or something else it shouldn't be and is dulling the sound. Bottom line, IF you are willing to work on it a little, it's pretty reasonable for the extremely low price you pay. And to anyone new considering this, this is indeed a ROCK BOTTOM price point. Not too bad, just needs a little tlc.... ... show more
