I purchased the GK HAIR Global Keratin "The Best" Smoothing Keratin Treatment Kit with high hopes, expecting a significant reduction in frizz and smoother, straighter hair. Used this today. I followed the very clear, concise directions and I love it. Having had keratin many times before today one of my favorite things was washing my hair right away. No more feeling like my hair was weighed down with funky keratin. I will use it again when necessary.

First-time User: I have very thick hair - I should have purchased an extra tube of the activator in addition to the kit. I didn't saturate my hair enough. My ends did not come out as well as expected. I also have to buy more regular shampoo and the two conditioners. But overall, I like it and will use it again! The faster you can apply the "Best" activator - the better! I took too long on my first try (over an hour) - but fortunately, no negative side effects! I use permanent color and the process did change the color of my hair - made it much lighter - too light for my tastes - so I will color it again in the next 10 days or so... I also went to the hair salon to have it washed out, blown dry and flat-ironed - I thought it best to make sure it was done correctly - especially the back. All in - I still saved money by doing the process myself. One more detail - My hairdresser said to do "touch-ups only" after this, to not reapply the treatment to hair already processed. Now that I know how it works, it will be easier and faster! GREAT!

Product is great. Keep in mind it's a smoothing treatment. If you sweat alot you will have to touch roots about a month earlier. I have combo hair 4a, 4b. Keratin usually gets my hair to a 3c. If hair gets wet a quick blow dryer puts it straight again.

We've used all types of keratin treatments for my daughter's thick, coarse, wavy hair and had high hopes for this one. We followed the instructions to the letter. We were disappointed. The Pros: Easy to use, less steps and smells much better than other keratin treatments. The Cons: Minimal results that don't last at all. After just one wash, the hair is right back to where it was prior to treatment. Not worth the time and money.
